 Jae's POV...

After Caleb and I walked through the front door and into the foyer, I cuffed his right shoulder with my right-hand halting his steps at once. “Caleb, you do realize that this just might be your last day on this earth once my wife sees you? I asked looking at him sympathetically.

“Why do you think that I stayed for so long? I hope like hell you didn't think It was because of you bro!” He answered back giving me the side-eye.

The moment we entered into the living all I could hear was a course of daddy and dada echoing throughout the large space.  As both Hannah and Raleigh reached me Caleb immediately swooped Raleigh up into his arms. He kissed Raleigh chubby cheeks multiple times until she began to Chant dada over and over with her little fingers reaching out for me.

“Come to daddy my princess.” I beckon as Caleb relinquishing his hold on her.

“How do you get to be called dada in only a matter of months while I, on the other hand, could barely get her to let me hold her? Caleb asked me with undeniable hurt etched in his voice.

“Maybe she knows that I'm better father material than you,” I whispered in his ear. I've always had a better relationship with Raleigh than Caleb. Whenever I was around them, she always completely ignored him and clung to me with those big, smiley, enchanting eyes of hers. I rubbed it in his face every single time. I had something that he would never have with Mckenna's daughter “a tight bond.”

My heart hammered in my chest when I heard Mckenna used a sweet, endearing word calling out to me. “Jae honey who are you in there talking to?  My eyes nearly bugged out of their socket when I saw her prancing down the stairs wearing tight ass hot pink booty shorts and a blue halter top that stopped just below her breast.

“McKenna baby what in the hell are you wearing? I asked in a husky voice as I raced to the bottom of the staircase blocking Caleb's view of her.

“Move, Jae,” McKenna says in a cold menacing voice the moment she spotted Caleb. The deadly look in her eyes caused me to stagger backwards a few steps. “Why are you here Caleb? McKenna asked peeking over my shoulders on her tiptoes.

For a second there I feared that my brother wasn't going to say a damn thing. “I came to check up on both you and Raleigh.” He answered in a shaky voice.

“Caleb, did It ever bother you that you left us at the altar three fucking months ago? McKenna yelled. I wrapped my free arm around her tiny waist while still holding Raleigh.

“Hannah take Raleigh to your room,” I inform her while still holding a tight grip around Mckenna's waist.

“Let me go, Jae!” McKenna demands this time.

“No baby,” I answered changing our position. I wrapped both my arms around her waist pulling her back flush against my chest. I felt her tremble violently the angrier she became.

“It has been three fucking months Caleb and now you want to waltz back into our lives as if nothing has fucking happened,” McKenna replies.

With my head resting on top of hers, I felt all the anger and pain that she was trying so desperately to contain within herself.

“McKenna you and Raleigh were always in my thoughts. I worried about how you guys were doing, whether Jae was treating you right. I wanted to call you dozens of times, but I knew that you and Raleigh needed time to adjust to your new life.” I hear my brother respond in his weak attempt of an excuse for his action. To me, he probably would have fared better if he had told her the real reason he left her at the altar.

“As you can see my husband is treating us, just fine Caleb, so get out!” McKenna yelled.

My husband kept ringing in my ear over and over again strumming pride up inside me. “Leave now Caleb,” McKenna yelled again but louder this time. “Why isn't he leaving Jae? McKenna asked as she turned in my arm, wrapping her arms around my waist and sobbing into my shirt.

Looking over at my brother, my heart was in turmoil. I wanted to let him have his say but the more he talked the more upset Mckenna became.

“I'll leave Mckenna.” Caleb finally caved in as he backed away to the door slowly. “Jae I'll call you later bro.” He added in a sad monotone.

Soon as the closed behind Caleb Mckenna let out a full out wail. I swooped her tiny, voluptuous frame into my arms and carried her upstairs to my bed. Laying her on top of my black and chocolate silk comforter. “I'll be right back beautiful,” I say walking towards my bathroom.

I walked out of the bathroom with a warm washcloth in my hands. McKenna was balled up in a tight knot on my bed fast asleep. Placing the washcloth on the nightstand, I sat down on the bed beside her. My heart ached immensely as I see all the pain that is being piled onto my wife. Taking the black blanket at the foot of my bed, I spread it out across Mckenna then kissed her on the forehead before leaving the room.
