Horse Whisperer (Hiatus)

Chapter 6

I woke up the next morning to Marcus jumping on my bed.

"Can you please stop jumping on my bed?" I half yelled sitting up. Marcus nodded and sat down with a plop.

"Mom sent me in here to get you up. You need to get ready. We'll be leaving in half and hour." he said getting up and walked out of my room. After he closed my door I got up and got ready. I pulled on a pair of dark skinny jeans and a white 'Our team is your teams punishment' shirt from when I ran cross-country in middle school. I put on my black and blue Victory shoes. I pulled my hair into a double waterfall braid and headed out the door. After breakfast I brushed my teeth and then brought my bags down. Before closing my door I took one last look around my room and then closed my door.

When I got downstairs I was greeted with smiles from my family. I know what the smiles meant. They were those 'Are you ready?' smiles. I gave then a quick nod and grabbed my bags and loaded them into the car. Sam hooked up the trailer and then I brought Rocky out. I loaded her up and then put the tack and the metal grooming box into the storage part of the trailer. After everything was ready we got in the car and started the drive to Catesforde. After sitting in the car for and hour we finally arrived.

There were green pastures with dark wood fences leading up to the school. In some of the pastures there were horses of all colors. There were chestnuts, bays, dabbled greys and so much more. When we got to what I presumed was the courtyard we got out of the car. I opened up the trailer and lead Rocky out. I grabbed the metal box and headed to the barn. I followed everyone else who had a horse. When I got to the barn I looked around for Mr. . When I finally found him I walked towards him.

"Hello. Glad you wanted to come. Rocky's stall is down the hall to the left, and is the fourth stall on the left." I gave him a quick nod and headed towards her stall. After counting to the fourth stall I put Rocky in it and locked the door. I put the metal grooming box in front of the stall and walked back to my car. I got the saddle and bridle and walked back to the barn. I headed towards the tack room and adjusted the saddle onto my left arm and the bridle in my hand to open the door with my right. When I got through the door I stopped in mid-step.

It smelled like weathered leather. One of my favorite things about the tack room. I saw lots of saddles and bridles with polished name tags. I saw the name plaque with Rocky's name on it and stuck the saddle onto the saddle rack and the bridle next to it. Once I knew that the saddle wouldn't fall I left the tack room and headed back to the car. This was the part I was dreading. When I got to the car my bags were already out of the car. I gave Sam a small smile and grabbed a few bags.

In an e-mail that I got I found out that my roommate's name is Lauren Woods. The room in in Woodcaster. We headed over to Woodcaster and walked in. There was a kitchen and a living room for everyone living in Woodcaster. I walked down the hall and found a door that had a dry erase board that said; 'Luna Everwood and Lauren Woods'. I opened the door and Lauren had already been here. She claimed the right side of the room but hey I didn't care. I was hoping for the left side of the room anyway. I set down my bags and took the bags from my family. After they were stacked and organized we walked out to the car.

"Have fun and remember what I told you. Love you." Sally said looking me in the eyes and hugged me.

"Love you too. And I will. Promise." I said smiling and hugging her back.

"Love you Lu." Sam said hugging me.

"Love you too." I hugged him and the best was saved for last. Marcus ran to me and jumped on me. He hugged me and I hugged him back.
