Horse Whisperer (Hiatus)

Chapter 9

I stopped Rocky once we got in the middle of the arena. I glanced at the stands and saw Maddie, Luke, Greg, April and Lauren there waiting for me to begin.

"Glad to see you again Luna. Remember what I told you when I first met you?" Mr. Edd said.

"Yep."

"Ready to begin your test?" I nodded my head.

"Collected trot from K to C."

I barely even moved and Rocky started to go into a collected trot. Once I got to C Mr. Edd made me go into a free canter and make two circles. After that I had to make a serpentine in a working walk. Then two stable hands brought in some poles for the jumping.

"I want you to start here," he said and walked the course, "Then end here." I nodded and waited.

"You may begin." I started Rocky into canter and we flew through the course in a matter of seconds. Okay maybe like 2 minutes most.

"That would be all. Thank you." Mr. Edd said and I lead Rocky out of the arena.

"That was great Luna. You should make the advanced riding team." Maddie said.

"Hey wanna meet at the sweet shopp? I have something I want to tell you guys before we make the teams." I said and they all nodded. I cleaned Rocky up and then met them outside of the stable. We walked to the shopp together and then sat down at a table big enough for all of us.

"So what do you want to tell us?" April asked.

"Well, before I came here I was a two time show champion in jumping and dressage. I stopped competing after an accident that happened at one of my shows a few years ago. My mom got trampled by a horse at the show and was rushed to the hospital. She didn't make it and now I live with my Aunt." I said looking at my hands the whole time.

"I can't believe you just told us that. Especially after testing." Luke said. I looked up at all of them.

"My titles have no effect though. Mr. Edd said that its going to be like way before I started competing." I said. They all nodded.
