the barber isn't much help, since most of lucas' hair is already gone, there was really no other choice than to shave it all. lucas is completely bald now and he's not handling it well. liam kind of wishes zayn came along too, because lucas was getting increasingly difficult to console.liam suggests a wig, to which lucas had cried even harder and liam feels like an idiot. what could he say to make his boy feel better?
"the only thing that can make me feel better now is revenge," lucas says, seeming to be reading liam's thoughts.
"oliver is already grounded lucas," liam says.
"i don't care, i'm going to shave off all his hair, and maybe his eyebrows too," lucas says.
"and you think that'll make you happier?" liam asks.
"yes," lucas says.
liam sighs. "you know, being bald isn't so bad on you. when i was younger i had a buzz cut."
"i could never pull that off," lucas shakes his head. "i look like calilou."
"hey, calilou is cute," liam says.
lucas glares at him. "ugh."
...
lucas walks around with his beanie for a few days even when he goes to hang out with his friends. lizzie of course, being his most annoying friend instantly removes it from his head when she sees him.
she bursts into laughter when she sees that he's bald. lucas tries to get it back from her but she doesn't let him.
"stop being such a bitch!" lucas huffs.
"i'm sorry but this is just too funny," she laughs then gives it back to him when she realizes lucas didn't find it funny. lucas collects it in anger and wears it, giving her the meanest glare ever. lizzie is used to his glares so she doesn't let it get to her. "what did you do to your beautiful hair lucas?"
"it wasn't me, it was my stupid brother," lucas says.
"it's horrible," she laughs.
"i know that!" lucas snaps. "just shut up if you're not gonna say anything nice. i'm going home."
"no, wait," she says. "i have something that'll make you feel better."
"what?" lucas asks, interested. maybe she got new makeup or nail polish. lizzie may be annoying sometimes but she always treats him.
she goes to her wardrobe and fishes something out.
"ta-da! it's a wig," she says.
lucas deadpans. "i don't want a wig!"
"chill, i'm not giving it to you," she says. "first of all, it's expensive. and i just wanna see how it'll look on you."
"fine," lucas says. he allows her put the wig on him. it's long, with a natural looking part almost like it's his hair. it's also blonde, different from the brown hair that he shares with lizzie.
"woah," she says. "you look beautiful."
lucas smiles at his reflection, somehow the wig does make him feel good, even better than when he has makeup on.
"i got this new eyeshadow too, wanna try it?" she asks, and well you already know lucas' answer to that. a few hours later and lucas stares at his reflection.
he doesn't recognize himself. his face is completely covered up in makeup, lizzie did his brows, his lashes and his lips. he looks entirely like a girl and he loves it. the wig just brings everything together and lucas is wondering why he never tried it out before.
