"renjun-ge, wake up!" renjun's eyes fluttered and looked at the boy in front of him.

he smiled and pinched the boy's left cheek, "good morning, baby."

"good morning, ge. come on, let's have a breakfast, i cooked ramyeon. let's go! let's go!" the boy grabbed his arms to make him get up from his bed.

he giggled at the boy's cuteness, "fine, fine. i'm hungry, anyway."

"then let's go!"

"uh, chenle,"

chenle stopped and looked straight at renjun, "yes, gege?"

"i love you. don't leave me, okay?"

the younger boy flashed a smile and nodded, "i won't. i love you, too."

"promise?"

"yes, promise." chenle giggled. "now come on, i'm so hungry!"

it's renjun's birthday and he's supposed to be happy. but why does he feel so hurt and sad?

"hey, renjun-ah, why don't you eat your food already?" one of his friends, jaemin, tells him.

"i'm not hungry."

"just a bit, please?"

"seriously, i'm not hungry. just enjoy your food, jaem." he sighs.

"renjun, you're supposed to be happy, it's your birthday. come on!" donghyuck, his another friend, tells him with a worried look on his face.

"guys, seriously? i said i'm not hungry!" he almost raised his voice but he stops himself. "sorry."

"renjun, i know you're still hurt, but you gotta move on." another friend of him, jeno, says as he puts his hand on the birthday boy's right shoulder.

renjun gently pushes away jeno's hand and sighs, "i- i can't. i just can't. i love him too much. so much." he pushes his lips together. "i'm really sorry, guys. i just can't enjoy myself today. you can go home now."

jaemin shakes his head, "no. we'll stay for a while. you can tell us everything, you can open up with us."

"yes, renjun, you can open up. we'll listen." donghyuck agrees and jeno just nods.

"thank you, guys, so much for always here and there for me. thank you that you became my friends."

"of course, renjun-ah, because we love you!" jaemin tells him and the said boy smiles flatly.

"i miss him so much. it's been 3 years since that accident happened, i'm still blaming myself." renjun sighs and tears suddenly starts to flow down his cheeks.

"shh, it's not your fault, no one's fault, hm? we miss chenle, too. and i hope he's happy wherever he is now and i'm sure he watches you from above." jeno smiles and renjun chuckles.

"well, i hope he's always watching me." he wipes his tears and hugs his friends.

chenle promised to not leave him but guess, promises are meant to be broken.
