Chapter 37 - graduation

Graduation.

I took a deep breathe and glanced at myself in the mirror. My mum was finishing off curling my hair. I looked so different, not just because my belly's gone, but just in general. If someone told me about a year ago that I was having a baby with one of my worst enemies, I'd laugh at them so much. And probably take it as offense.

"Off you go then." Mum said as she heard Beau's car pull up.

I was due to say a speech at the ceremony. And I was currently shaking my leg up and down whilst waiting.

"And now, our Pre-Law graduate, Allison Green," principal said.

I cleared my throat and stood up. I talked the microphone to make sure it worked.

"I've spent 4 years at this school," I began, "and I actually didn't think I'd make it this far, standing at this podium and holding my diploma," I chuckled, "and along the way, I learned so many things, like, don't get into fights with your enemies, o-or your friend, because you could be and still be going to daily detentions, and always learn to forgive those even if they didn't say sorry because I know they didn't mean it." I paused, "people take school for granted, and always dread it, waking up in the morning by your parents and always groaning and sighing whilst putting on the clothes, but there are people in the world who don't even get to go to school. And attending this school made me realise that," I paused again, "I'll miss this place a lot, but high school was only the beginning, our journeys haven't even started yet." I finished and the room began clapping.

I'm quote proud of that since I wrote it myself.

"Thank you, Miss Green." The principal said. "Now for the exciting part."

The graduation party was way better than Prom. People were taking photos at the booth and dancing and throwing hats up in the air. It was a total High School Musical Moment.

Beau walked up to the table we were at with Melanie in his arms. Its weird that Melanie got to be at my graduation. "There's my baby." I cooed.

"Awwwww." Beau giggled.

Okay then.

I smiled at both of them and took Melanie into my arms. "Hey Mel." I whispered and kissed her on the head as she cooed back.

"And you said children would hate you." Beau tutted.

"Yeah but that was like a year ago." I shrugged and continued to play with her.

"Eeeeeek my turn!" Jo squealed as she soon realised Mel's presense, I rolled my eyes smiling and eventually handed her over.

I saw Luke walk into the room. "Hey there my Pre-Law graduate," he laughed.

"Hey there my, high school graduate?" I questioned since he didn't get a diploma.

"Care to dance?" He held out a hand. I glanced at Jo who was happy with Melanie and Beau was chatting up some girl.

I smiled and nodded.

Luke led me to the dance floor and twirled me out of my seat, "listen I have some things I need to apologise for."

I chuckled, "go on."

"Okay, well," he span me around and caughte again, "I'm sorry for just dumping you like that."

"Please don't use the word 'dump', it makes me feel useless," I sighed.

"Sorry," he said then added, "I guess I was just scared. For heavens sake we already have a child," he chuckled, "and graduated, barely, I haven't even chosen a college yet, or a stable job, I have a child Ally, I still can't let that sink in," luke sighed and changed positions in the dance. "I have a fucking child."

I laughed, "yeah, I think we established that."

"I just can't believe it though." Luke laughed. "You see that?" He pointed to Jo and Mel. "She's my daughter. I'm her daddy."

"And you'll be a great daddy," I said before kissing him on the cheek for what seemed lime forever. He used his thumb and gently pulled my chin away from his cheek and placed my lips on his.

"I miss you." He whispered.

I chuckled, "I love you, Luke."

He whined, "I was supposed to say it first!"

"Too bad," I winked and connected our lips once again.

"I love you too, Ally." Luke mumbled. "Do you wanna get out of here?" He added.

I took a deep breath. What about Mel? My phone vibrated in my bra.

"Best place to keep it." Luke laughed.

I smiled and turned to Jo who was smirking.

"Let's go." I took his hand and once we were outside of school, and into his car, we hungrily re-attached his lips.
