Josephine
"I still think it's too tight. I feel so uncomfortable," I whine as I look myself over in the mirror.
"You look fucking hot, girl! You're wearing it. End of story," Khadijha ignores my pleas to change. Khadijha somehow convinced me to buy this dress for the frat formal even though it's way out of my comfort zone. I turn back to the mirror and smooth out the imaginary wrinkles. It's a black formfitting dress adorned with a floral design that comes down to my calf, but there's a slit on the left side that goes up to my thigh. I absolutely love the dress; it's how it looks on me that's the problem.
"Can't I just wear a dress I already have?" I attempt to adjust the straps to hide some of my cleavage to no avail.
"And look like a potato sack? Hell, no. Now come sit down and let me do your hair." I let out a sigh of frustration, knowing that there was no way Khadijha was going to allow me to change. I sit on the chair in front of her mirror and allow her to work her magic on my hair and makeup. When I go to check myself out in the mirror, I have to admit I don't look awful. She styled my hair in beautiful loose curls with natural makeup.
Khadijha nonchalantly strips down before adorning her dress for the evening. She chose a daringly one-shoulder nude colored dress with red hearts all over the fabric. Her figure looked absolutely amazing, and I couldn't help but feel a bit jealous at her self-confidence as she checks herself out in her mirror before slipping a pair of nude heels on. I decided to go with a simple pair of black flats, not needing a broken ankle a week after a concussion. I'm surprised Khad didn't complain about the shoes, but when she realized it was for safety reasons, she agreed flats were best.
Khadijha walked up behind me as I looked in the mirror and rested her chin on my shoulder. "You seriously look stunning, Josephine. Hero isn't gonna know what hit him," she kisses my cheek before heading to the mini fridge for alcohol. I can't help the blush that spreads across my chest and cheeks at the mention of Hero. I still haven't seen him since our almost-kiss-awkward moment or whatever you'd like to call it, and I'm extremely nervous to see him again. I'm also really excited to spend the night with friends hopefully having a good time— sans drinking for me.
There's a rhythmic knock at the door and Khadijha squeals. "That's the boys!" she bounces over to let them in. We decided to host the pregame in our room since the frat house was likely to be packed to the brim, plus our building was closer to the venue. Sam whistles as he walks in and twirls Khaidjha, admiring her beauty. I know they say they're just fooling around, but I see the way he looks at her like she's a goddess.
"I am one lucky man," he chuckles before taking the shot Khad already had poured for him. He's dressed in a black suit with the undershirt unbuttoned to showcase his chains. As I stare at the two of them together, I can't help but feel intimidated by how amazing they look. I'm so engrossed in gawking at Khadijha and Sam that I don't even notice Hero walk in.
"Ahem," I hear someone clear their throat next to me. I startle a bit before turning to take in Hero's figure standing before me. I can't stop the gasp that falls from my lips at the sight of him. He's dressed in a black suit with a deep green button-up underneath that matches the green in my dress perfectly. Khadijha must have sent him a picture. His hair is slicked back with gel, his flawless features on display. He looks absolutely breathtaking, like he could walk down the runway at any moment. I wonder if he's ever considered modeling. A light chuckle snaps me out of my stupor, and I'm almost positive I drooled a bit. "M'lady," Hero smiles before handing me a single red rose from behind his back. I can literally feel myself swoon.
"Th-thank you," I take the flower from him and smell the fragrance before placing it on my bedside table. I feel so flustered right now. Just friends. Act normal.
