Sixteen year old, Hugo Duane Agreste tosses and turns all night.  He dreams about himself as Chat Noir and Ladybug. Then, dreams some other dude asks Lavine out and he yells at him.

The next day, Hugo wakes up early, gets ready for school and arrives on time. He thinks, I still owe Lavine an apology for the kiss. He is glad there no akuma attacks right now.

He sees Madison go over to Lavine and knock the books out of her hands. He sees tears in Lavine's arms as she attempts to pick them up.  Hugo notices the cast and sling on her arm.

Hugo helps her pick up her books after the mean girl leaves and asks, "Wh-what happened to y-your a-arm?"

"I hurt it playing volleyball the other day," Lavine lies. She thinks, I can not tell him what really happened to it.

"Oh, well I am sorry to hear that then," Hugo tells her. He thinks, why does she lie?  He knows she is not on the volleyball team.

"It is okay, I will be all right," Lavine replies and thinks, why is so kind to me today?

"I-I am sorry about the k-kiss the other day and p-promise not to d-do it a-again," Hugo tells her.

"Oh, it is okay, you only meant to cheer me up, "She says and starts to blush.

                       "L-Let me c-carry y-your books for y-you," Hugo responds.

"Okay, sure,"  Lavine says in surprise. She and Hugo enter the classroom together.

Once inside the class, Hugo places Lavine's books on her desk and goes to his seat.  Madison gives Lavine an glare that shows how angry she is with her right now.

Hugo takes his seat across  from Lavine as usual. He gets a note passed to him by Lavine and sighs.  He reads silently, Thanks for helping me with my books.-L.S.

He looks up at her in surprise.  Hugo listens to Miss Bustier teach, but daydreams about the girl.  He sighs too.  He takes the math quiz and does not do so well on it.

Later, as Miss Bustier hands it to him with a huge red F across it she says, "Maybe if you better attention to your math than the pretty girl in the row across from you would do better on it."

Hugo's face turns red from embarrassment as he slids the paper into his folder, then puts it inside his backpack.

He does well on his other subjects though and breathes a sigh of relief as the bell signals the end of the school day.

"Hi, Huey dear!" Madison says to Hugo now that it is after school.

"I hate that nickname and I am not yours!" Hugo scoffs.  He walks off and joins Lavine.

"Here, let me carry your books for you again," Hugo says.

"Well, sure if you insist,"  Lavine says and hands him her bag. She wonders what brought on his sudden change in attitude.

Once at her place, Hugo carries her backpack inside and sets it down at the table for her.  "Lavine, is this boy your boyfriend?" Her mother asks and thinks, what a polite young man.

"Mom, we are just friends," Lavine tells her.

"Y-Yes, like she says we are f-friends," Hugo remarks.

Hugo's mother straightens up the kitchen, so Hugo grabs up the book bag and carries it up stairs for Lavine.

Once inside her room he sets it down at a desk for her.  Lavine smiles over at him.

"How  did you do on your math quiz?"  Lavine asks.

"I rather not talk about it," Hugo says.

"What is that bad?"  Lavine asks. She looks at him in surprise.

"Well, wh-what do y-you th-think?"  He asks as he hands it to her.

Lavine looks at and thinks, whoa, this is bad.

"How about I help you with math?  It has to be under two conditions though, one you have to carry my stuff for me until my cast comes off and we have to be friends."  Lavine says.

"It is d-deal, " Hugo remarks. He thinks, what did I just get myself into anyway?

"Let's start shall we!" Lavine asks.

"S-Sure, whatever you say p-princess," Hugo says rather softly.

The two work on math together, and Lavine explains why he question number eight wrong. He blushes, and corrects the homework assignment without and arugment.

Hugo picks up his math book, etc. and starts to leave.  "Thanks, Hugo so much!" Lavine says and hugs him.   Hugo blushes, returns the hug, then backs away and nods his head.

"S-see you tomorrow, H-Hugo," Lavine says. She blushes now too.

"See y-you t-tomorrow, L-Lavine," Hugo mutters. He leaves.

Lavine sighs as she watches him go and heads downstairs to join her mother and sister at the dinner table.

"Hi, Hugo, how did school go today, son?" Adrien and Marinette asks him.

"Good, other than this,"  He says as he hands them the math quiz to sign.

"Who is the lucky girl?"  His father teases him.

                              "No one," Hugo answers.

"How are things going with Lavine?" Marinette asks.

"She has a broken arm, and let me carry her books for her. She and I are friends now, "Hugo remarks.

After supper, Hugo helps his mother with the dishes, then goes upstairs to do his homework. He sighs as he finishes and thinks, Why is Lavine so nice to me? She told her mother we are friends.

He hopes it works out well for the both of them. He is not sure if it is because of the deal or not.   He wonders though, how is both Ladybug and Lavine have a broken arm?

Hugo shrugs his shoulders and decides it is just coincidental that is all.  No need to consider more to it than this.  He laughs and thinks, besides there is no way his new friend is his partner.
