I was jogging down the hallway hurriedly looking for Pidge. Just as I was rounding a corner I bumped into something, or rather, someone.
I looked up to be met with Shiro's gaze. "Oh hey, Keith," he said. "Hey Shiro..." I said trying not to sound suspicious. "What did you do?" He asked sounding like a father. "N-nothing! Why would you think I did something, Spacedad?" I said trying to play my nervousness off. "Mhm okay," he answered sounding unconvinced.
"Does it have anything to do with a girl?" He asked not even trying to suppress the sly smirk that made its way onto his lips. "I gotta go!" I said trying to walk past him like a child.
I was about to get away when I felt him grasp my shoulder turning me around. I struggled under his grip trying to break free but to no efforts. He laughed wholeheartedly, bending over clutching his stomach. "Hmph," I said pouting.
"I-I'm sorry, you're just too funny." I just looked the other way. "You never answered my question~" he teased. I tensed up not knowing what to say.
He was like a brother to me, what if he didn't except me? What would I do? He meant so much to me. Too much. Shiro has helped me through more things than I can count with my fingers. Losing him now would kill me.
I started tearing up as I looked down. He noticed my sudden change in behavior as his expression changed. His gaze softened as one of the tears I'd been struggling to hold back finally fell.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong buddy?" He asked me bending down and drying one of my tears with his thumb. I didn't know what to say. 'He's going to hate me.' 'I'm disgusting.' "Keith you're not disgusting, and I could never hate you." I hadn't realized I said that out loud.
"Yes I am." I said not trying to face the truth. "Please, Keith. What's wrong?" Shiro said trying to figure me out. After a long pause I let out a shaky breathe and answered with
"Shiro... I'm..... I'm gay." I shut my eyes tight not wanting to see the disapproval on his face. After what felt like hours of silence I finally found the courage to look up at him. What I found on his face was nothing near what I expected at all.
He was smiling softly at me. "Is that all?" He asked in a gentle voice. I looked at him in the most confused expression ever. "What?" I asked. "Y..you don't think I'm gross?" I asked him astonished. "What?! Keith no of course not!" I let out a breathe I hadn't realized I'd been holding. "Being gay is a totally okay thing, Keith. Whoever told you otherwise is entirely wrong." He said sternly but still caring.
I shuddered at the memories of the past foster home I trusted with everything. I really loved them, so one day I came back determined to tell my foster mom about this boy at school. I really liked him, that's what I explained to them. That's how the abuse started. They kicked me out three months later.
"Ke...eith...Keith!" I looked up shaking my head. "S-sorry, what were you saying?" "You okay? You kinda zoned out there bud," Shiro asked in his dad voice, but to me it was more of an older brother tone. "Yeah I'm okay, what were you saying?" "Oh um," Shiro smirked. "Do you have someone you like~" he said suggestively, wriggling his eyebrows.
"N-no!" I practically screeched. "I gotta go, I'm looking for Pidge, bye!" I said hurriedly. I stopped and turned around to him, "and Shiro," "hm?" He acknowledged. "Thank you, it means a lot to know that my big brother excepts me..." I said warmly. "Of course dude!" He chuckled. "Also! One more thing, I have something I want to tell you... so come to my room later... it's kinda important. Bye!" I said running down the hall to go find Pidge.
*him and Pidge have been talking for awhile*
"And then I was like,'I'm gay', and he said,'okay and?" I said in my best Shiro impersonation, puffing out my chest. Pidge laughed as I puffed out my chest and made my arms look bigger. "I proud that you told him though dummy," Pidge said fidgeting with one of their gadgets. "Thanks midget," I retaliated. I explained the whole Lance and Shiro situations to Pidge who happily took in all my tea.
"And oh my gosh, Lance literally was killing me.." I went on about how cute Lance was earlier. "Lance is so-" "Lance is so what?" I heard a voice call from behind me making me freeze. I turned around to see a smirking yet confused Lance at the door.
I turned a light shade of pink as I looked at Pidge who began snorting. "N-nothing! Lance is... never mind," I said trying to avoid the subject. "Awww come on Mullet tell me what you were gonna say about meeee," Lance whined throwing himself on top of me like a baby.
"Annoying," I finally huffed as I tried to get Lance off of me. As I was pushing Lance some of my shirt came up showing part of my toned abs... which was now right in Lances face. I giggled as I watched Lance squirm away, heat rising up his neck resting on his cheeks and ears. "Aww Lancey don't blush~" I said cooing at him.
"I-I'm not blushing!" He stuttered. "I'm gonna go find Hunk, goodbye!" He pouted. After Lance left Pidge and I looked at each other and laughed. "That was adorable!" I screeched. Pidge only nodded while chuckling going back to there project.
*3rd person POV*
Little did Keith know Lance was outside the door and heard him. He walked away with a goofy smile plastered on his face. As he walked to the kitchen Lance passed the observatory. He walked in and found Keith's abandoned sketch book.
Boy was he in for a treat...
