Castiel's POV

Zachariah and I made our way to the little ranch. A nephilim had been born not that long ago. We were on our way to kill it. What none of the other angels knew was that this nephilim was mine. It was wrong and a mistake. Zachariah is the only angel that knows, but has agreed to keep it between us if I kill this child.

The ranch was old and worn down. I could sense the child inside. I stood outside with a sigh. Zachariah hands me an angel blade. "Just get it over with and no one has to know." He says. I nod and take the blade and enter the house. It was quiet at first, then I heard babbling.

I followed the sound and froze. The mother... the one I had slept with, was hanging from a noose. I frowned as I approached her. I reached up to feel her forehead. She had been dead for a few days. "I'm sorry." I say to her. I carefully take her down and lay her down on the couch.

I heard the babbling once more. I turn around and see a small infant. She looked just a little over a year old. She had (h/c) hair and blue eyes. My blue eyes. I sighed deeply and approached the small nephilim. She started to waddle over to me but fell.

I held out my blade and was about to strike down, but then she looked up at me... and smiled. I froze. The only movement being my shaking hand. She looked just like her mother, but she had my eyes. I could feel her grace. It was pure and full of life.

She tilts her head and reaches up to me. I don't know why, but I knelt down to her. She giggled and reached for my face. I just stared at her. I dropped my blade and held her. I couldn't do it. I can't slaughter my own daughter!

I carefully lifted her up. She looked into my teary eyes before looking at her mother on the couch. "Mama." She spoke. I let out a shaky sigh. "Your mama's in a better place. I'm your father. And I promise I'll look after you, take care of you, and protect you."

She looks at me as I say this. I don't care what Zachariah says. I'll hide her from him. From all of them. "Daddy?" She says. I smile softly and nod. "Daddy. Yeah." I hug her gently and zap us into an empty motel.

I sit down on the bed, still holding her. "I'm here. Daddy's got you." She looks up at me and smiles brightly. I smile back. "I won't ever let anything happen to you, (y/n)."
