| CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE |
YOU'RE A GIRL.
HAZEL WAS SEATED IN THE Great Hall, her head in her homework whilst Lee - who sat besides her - was sneakily trying to copy her answers whenever she wasn't looking. Almost all years occupied the Great Hall, all of them doing their own work, and, much to Hazel's surprise, both of the twins were there. However, by the looks of it, they weren't doing their homework and instead were scribbling down more ideas for their Joke Shop.
"This is mad. At this rate, we'll be the only ones in our year without dates," Hazel heard Ron muttering angrily to Harry as the Golden Trio sat a few seats down from her, "Well, us and Neville," He sniggered.
"Might interest you two to know, Neville's already got a date," Hazel informed the boys as she leaned over Lee's work to talk to them, causing Ron to jump in surprise.
Ron frowned, "Now I'm really depressed," He sulked.
Hazel rolled her eyes as she moved back. At the very same time she did so, Professor Snape happened to stroll past the Gryffindor table. Clearly hearing Ron talking, Snape whacked the ginger haired boy in the back of the head with his book, before shushing him angrily. He then walked away from the Gryffindor as if nothing had happened.
Fred suddenly leaned over George, throwing a scrunched up piece of parchment at his younger brother.
Ron looked confused for a second, before unfolding the parchment and scanning the words carefully. He rolled his eyes and glanced back up to his brother, "Well, who are you two going with, then?"
George briefly glanced up from his work, winking at Hazel before looking at Ron, "With my girlfriend, obviously, Ron," He said in an obvious tone of voice.
Ron's eyes widened, his mouth opened and closed for several seconds before he finally composed himself, "You have a girlfriend?"
George rolled his eyes, "Yes. Is that so hard to believe?"
"Yes!" Ron exclaimed and was quickly shushed by Hermione. He ignored the girl, his eyes focused purely on his brother, "Who is this mysterious girlfriend, then?" He challenged.
George smirked at his younger brother before his eyes landed on Hazel - who was looking down at her work - before turning back to Ron with a wink.
Ron let out an exaggerated laugh, "There's no way the hottest girl in our school said yes to being your girlfriend. Back me up Harry."
The conversation grabbed both Harry and Hazel's attention and they both glanced up at the exact same moment.
"We saw them cuddling on the couch yesterday," Harry stated, looking perplexed that Ron didn't spot them.
"We did?" Ron asked, looking confused before realisation hit him, "That was you two!" He exclaimed loudly, pointing between George and Hazel as a few students close by looked up.
"Could you be any louder?" Hermione muttered angrily, her voice finally catching Ron's attention.
"Oi, Hermione. You're a girl."
Hazel snickered under her breath and glanced over at Hermione. She could tell the bushy haired girl was already extremely annoyed at the ginger haired boy by the way she clenched her quill.
"Very well spotted," Hermione muttered, not taking her eyes off her book.
"Come with one of us?" Ron pleaded, "Come on. It's one thing for a bloke to show up alone. For a girl, it's just sad."
Hazel face palmed.
Hermione finally slammed her book shut and looked up at Ron, "I won't be going alone, because, believe it or not, someone's asked me!" She exclaimed, jumping out of her seat. Hazel watched as the bushy haired girl practically stormed over to Professor Snape, shoving her book into his hands. The Professor scanned the pages before nodding. Hermione turned back around and began speed walking back to her seat, she angrily grabbed her book bag, "And I said, yes!" She whisper-yelled at Ron, before finally exiting the Great Hall, leaving a shell-shocked Ron stuck in his seat.
"Bloody hell," He muttered before turning to Harry, "She's lying, right?"
Harry shrugged, clearly not wanting to be part of their argument, "If you say so," He muttered quietly, avoiding eye contact with the ginger haired boy.
"Your brother is so stupid when it comes to girls," Hazel muttered to the twins, as the four older students watched Snape standing behind Harry and Ron, clearly annoyed that the pair were talking.
"Trust me, he's stupid when it comes to a lot of things," George replied.
Hazel didn't reply, instead she slapped her hand over her mouth to muffle her laughter, since Professor Snape finally made his presence known to the two chattering boys by pushing their heads down towards their opened books.
The brunette finally closed her book before shoving her quill and ink into her bag. She stood up, on her way to Professor Snape, she purposefully whacked Ron with her book. Something Snape clearly noticed, but didn't even comment on. Professor Snape flicked through her book before nodding.
Hazel turned on her heels and began making her way back towards her seat. As she passed a perplexed looking Ron, she muttered, "That was for Hermione."
