| CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE |
SHE LOOKS PALE.
THE DOCTORS CALLED IT A miracle that Hazel Lupin finally woke up, and after they checked her over and ran some more tests they finally allowed her to have visitors back in there, and now that she was awake, visiting her was a lot less depressing. Even Neville was finally allowed to come and see the brunette girl.
"She looks pale," Ron muttered quietly, he stood in between Harry and Fred at the foot of Hazel's hospital bed.
George must've heard his younger brother's statement as he sent him a hard glare whilst Hazel chuckled quietly, "Thank you, Ron," The brunette said, her voice hoarse as her eyes looked at Ron lazily.
The Weasley boy turned a bright shade of red before averting his eyes down to his shoes. It wasn't long before doctors ushered the majority of the people out of the room, especially after Fred 'accidentally' set off a firework which definitely would've hit Hazel if Remus' reflexes weren't sharp enough. Now it was just Hazel and George in the hospital room, Remus was outside talking to Tonks, letting the young couple have some privacy.
The silence was much more comforting now than it had been for the last two weeks. The brunette played with George's fingers as he kept his hand clasped in hers, "I knew I should've brought you back with me," He suddenly muttered, breaking the silence.
Hazel's head snapped in his direction, a saddened look on her face, "George...This wasn't your fault," She said softly, tightening her grip on his hand, "You didn't know this was going to happen. I didn't even know this was going to happen. Please, please don't blame yourself, okay?"
George sighed sadly but eventually nodded his head, "Okay," He said, finally looking up at Hazel's dark eyes, "I love you."
Hazel felt a genuine smile etching itself upon her face, "I love you too, so so so much. I'm sorry I had you so worried."
"It's not your fault, love," He told her, he suddenly budged his chair closer to the hospital bed, his hand softly touching her cheek.
The brunette closed her eyes momentarily as she practically melted into his touch. George's eyes practically sparkled as he looked at the brunette, his heart hammering loudly in his chest, "There's a war coming," He said, his voice soft, "And I know we're young...But...I need to ask you something."
Hazel's palms suddenly felt clammy as her heart began to beat faster, an anxious feeling settling in her stomach, "Okay," She said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Nerves suddenly filled George's veins as he pulled his hand away from Hazel's cheek, leaving her face feeling cold. He dug into his pocket before finally pulling out the small black velvet box out, his hands fiddling with it nervously, "Will you marry me? I know that we're young," He nervously babbled, "But there's a war coming and I can't bear to loose you. Oh Merlin, is it too soon? I'm so sorry, forget I asked. Merlin's beard--"
"George," Hazel cut him off, an amused grin on her face, "Yes."
"W-W-What?"
"Yes," Hazel grinned from ear to ear. Her heart was racing and butterflies swarmed her stomach but she knew what she wanted, "Yes, I'll marry you."
AN- I know that they're still quite young, but war is coming guys so it kind of made sense in my eyes for them to want to do this. Hope you all liked it, have a lovely day/afternoon/night 💖
