The Party

"Fucking hell guys how long does it take you to get ready for a freaking party?" Isla had slowly been growing more and more impatient while we were getting ready for the party. I'm surprised it took her this long to crack.

"Hey, I'm ready! Quiche is just taking foreverrrrr!" I was not taking forever, I just didn't want to go to this stupid party, but I had said I would go with Cat. So here I was, glaring at the pirate outfit that Cat had put together for me. The enchanted mirror in Cat and Isla's dormitory was making snarky remarks about the ridiculous length of the trousers I was wearing which I had turned up multiple times that my ankles were half the size of the fold.

"Honestly, you look like you've had a swelling jinx cast on you!" I rolled my eyes, no wonder Isla ways so insecure about how she dressed. "I saw that!"

I flipped the mirror off on my way out to go meet the girls in the common room. Cat's reaction once I saw her immediately put any insecurities the mirror had implanted away. I smirked at her blush, I knew she had been waiting for an excuse to get me in this particular outfit for a while. Some fantasy I guess, either way I'm gonna milk it all night.

As for Cat, she looked stunning with her cat ears headband and adorable drawn on whiskers. How appropriate.

I kiss her cheek, careful not to smudge her makeup, and cocked an eye at Isla's irritated expression. Isla decided to dress as a slutty dragon, a choice I knew would make Scorpio crumble.

"Ready to go?"

"We were waiting for you!" Isla crossed her arms scowling a little at my smirk and shrugging shoulders. It had become one of my favourite pass times to irritate her. She stomped her foot and marched out of the doorway. Cat laced our hand together after a quick jab to my side, a warning to behave.

The twins had managed to set up a pretty decent Halloween party in one of the abandoned classrooms on the 4th floor. There were worryingly realistic skellingtons hanging around, some by nooses others just floating. A simmering cauldron was pouring a dark blue smoke that covered the whole floor, well at least I think it was blue, the interchanging orange and black lights were making it hard to distinguish any colour.

I spotted Scorpio straight away sat in a corner with a half empty cup in hand. He was swaying slightly from one side to the other, but it seemed to be an unconscious movement. He was completely sloshed. I was about to make a move to check on him, but Cat pulled me back nodding towards Isla who was already half way across the room to him. I smirked but looked away to give them both a little privacy.

I looked over to Cat who seemed to be glowing under the orange lights, even if there was an anxious glint in her eye. I smiled and tugged on her hand leading her to the middle of the room where a vast amount of people were moving against each other. Now I wasn't one for dancing but either way I moved my hands to Cat's hips and pulled her towards me so every part of us were touching. Her arms moved up my sides and wrapped around my shoulders as her hips began to swing. She was intoxicating.

I looked up at her to see her looking back at me intensely. I wasted no time in smashing my lips to hers, gripping her hips just a little bit tighter. I heard a few whistles from the sides of the room but ignored them. My lips found their way to Cat's neck but before I could leave any mark a harsh grip pulled me back followed by a quick punch. What the fuck??

Taylor was seething.

"Y-you dick! You know I LOVE her!" I can't remember a time I had encountered anyone this drunk, especially at Hogwarts. As much as I wanted to rip into Taylor for giving me a black eye, I was not willing to fight someone this drunk.

"Taylor back off. I am not doing this." By now we had gathered a crowd which I didn't particularly want but Cat's hand had found mine, so it wasn't all bad.

"Ffuck you!" Taylor swung again but tripped over her own feet. I caught her quickly not because I didn't want her to get her but because I didn't want Cat to get upset if Taylor did hurt herself. She thrashed about in my arms as I gently lowered Taylor to the floor. "Get the fuck out get out!"

I was going to protest but fuck that, I didn't even want to come to this stupid party. I turned back to Cat asking her to come with me. She seemed conflicted as her eyes darted between my bruising one and Taylor sobbing on the floor. I could tell by the look she was giving Taylor that she wanted to stay and help her friend. My back straightened as the small smile I reserved just for her faded. Before she could say anything I turned on my heel and left the room without a word.
