"Hi" he says.

I look at him and don't say anything back.

I know his family is here but why is he over here? Speaking to me?

He plays with his hands and looks down – something he did when he was always nervous – and says, "I know that I'm the last person that you wanna see or even talk to but, I'm sorry. That night...I-I wasn't thinking. I don't know what I was thinking when I said what I said. I know that you're not like that and I'm sorry for accusing you of being that way. My parents constantly told me to reach out to you but I told them that I was a grown man and didn't need them on my ass all the time. My mother told me that she never raised me to be that way to you and she was right. I don't know why I reacted that way and I honestly have no explanation for it. You were always there for me growing up and I hate myself because I wasn't there when you needed me the most. I left you. I ignored you. I moved on and I regret every bit of it. But I just want you to know that I'm finally realizing how my selfish choices affected you and I'm sorry, I really am. I just want you to know that I still love you........... Please say something."

I sighed and looked down at my baby as I continued rubbing her back to see that she was wide awake, and was grasping the side of my stomach.

This girl always has to have something in her hands.

But I left her alone because it wasn't bothering me and she was relaxed and in her own zone.

I looked up at him and just stared at him. This went on for minutes because I honestly didn't wanna talk to him and I didn't even know what to say.

I sighed and said "You left me."

"I'm sor-"

I close my eyes and say "Don't"

I reopen my eyes and just start talking.

"You were my bestfriend. I loved you. And you left. You moved on. When we were kids I had friendships with other people, remember?"

He slowly nodded and I continued.

"Well, one day they started hanging around the wrong crowd. When you hang around the wrong crowds, you start to....pick up on things. You may not notice it but you slowly change a little bit, Change can be a good or a bad thing am I right?"

He nodded and listened to me intently as I continued.

"Well, when those so called friends of mine started to go through "change" I didn't pay it any mind.

But one day, they started ignoring me. They left me. Found other friends, because people quote on quote "grow apart."

Every time that happened to me, there was this one boy that I would always tell. Do you know who he is."

He nodded but that wasn't good enough for me.

"Who was he" I strictly said.

"Me"

"Exactly. It was you, I told you how people would always leave me for others and I would always blame myself. But do you remember what you'd always tell me?"

"That I'd never ever leave you."

"And that's just what you did. I'm telling this to you to remind you mind what you constantly told me. You said you'd never leave. And yet......you did. I'm hurt because I believed you. I'd NEVER in a million years expect that from you. YOU!!!! MY BEST FRIEND!! HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME?"

Nobody could hear us because we were a good distance from everyone, and the music was blaring.

But we could hear eachother loud and clearly.

He was about to speak but then I cut him off and said "I.....had a baby. I had your baby. Our baby. And guess what? You weren't there. You weren't there. I keep repeating it because it's just shocking to me. You weren't there. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and you weren't there."

He looked down as a tear rolled down his cheek but I didn't feel sorry for him one bit.

He's the one who made the decision to leave.

"I hate that I wasn't there and when I realized it, it was too late. I got all of your pictures and videos of when you were pregnant and I feel so bad that I wasn't there. There's no way that I can go into the past and try to fix what I said to you, so I'm asking if you would let me be in your daughters life. Our daughters life."

I look down at her to see her with a slight smirk on her face.

This girl is always smiling for no reason.

I turn my beautiful smiling girl around and place her onto my lap. I hold her head up a little so that he could see his little twin, our daughter.

He never looked away from her as he said, "Can I touch her."

I nodded and scooted closer to the table so that he could reach over.

He reached over and before he could touch her, she wrapped her hand around his index finger.

He smiled and said "OH!!!! Oh okay."

She started to smile harder as they looked into each other's green eyes.

She had a strong grip with her little hand onto his finger.

He continued smiling at her and never looked away as he said "Can I hold her?"

I slowly nod and pick her up. He grabs her very gently and places her on his lap as he gently holds her head.

She's so intent on playing with her little hands that she doesn't notice that I passed her over to someone else.

Usually she'd cry when someone else holds her, but she's been smiling ever since she first interacted with Kelly .

He softly tickled her little stomach so that he'd get her attention.

She smiled and turned her head to look into his eyes.

He gasped and said "Hii you beautiful baby. I'm your daddy. Nice to meet you beautiful."

He continues to play with her as he says "what's her name?"

"Kiera Marisila, and she has your last name."

He gives me a slight smirk but I can still see the sorrow behind his eyes.

He looks back down at her as she's tightly grasping one of the buttons on his jacket and says, "That's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl."

He then picks her up and examines her.

"You're...really pretty" he says

Kiera lightly starts to kick her little legs.

He smiles and puts her onto his chest rubbing her back.

He kisses her on the forehead as he smiles and says "Daddy loves you baby and he promises that he's going to do better. I love you so much babygirl."
