DAWN'S POV

"I'm pregnant." I said, looking at the positive pregnancy test in my hand.

"Really?" he asked. "I can't believe it, I'm going to be a father. I'm gonna be a father!" he said, excitedly.

"How am I going to tell my uncle? He's gonna kill you." I looked at him.

"It'll be okay, we'll tell him together." I nodded and threw the test in the trash. We walked out of the bathroom and down to the office where my uncle would be. I knocked on the door and opened it a bit.

"Uncle Sonny?" I walked in and Jimmy followed behind.

"What is it Dawn?"

"I have something to tell you. Well, we do." I gestured between Jimmy and I.

"Okay, go on."

"I'm pregnant." I said, looking down at my hands.

"Oh. Congratulations. I have business to do." He gestured towards the door.

"That's it?" I asked. He nodded and, again, gestured towards the door. We got up and walked out of the office. "I can't drink and smoke cigarettes or weed." I sighed, plopping down onto the couch.

"It's okay, because you know what? In nine months, we will have a child and you won't want to do that anymore. You won't have time to do it. This is a huge responsibility Dawn. Do you realize that?"

"I know, Jimmy. Are you aware that if I'm quitting, so are you?" I asked, looking at him.

"Why? I'm not the pregnant one."

"Because you made me pregnant." I said, with an annoyance to my voice.

"That's true. I guess you're right. I guess I'm quitting too."

"Damn right you are, this is a huge responsibility." I mocked him.

"Very funny. What should we do now?"

"I don't know, I have nobody else to tell." I replied.

"Neither do I. So, that's it. You can't work anymore either. Too dangerous for a pregnant woman."

"I love my job so much. And then, once it's born, I can't do it then either." I sighed and laid down on the floor.

"It's okay, you'll eventually get back in the business."

"Jimmy, I'm also only eighteen. You're only nineteen." I stated.

"I mean, that's true but also, we can't get rid of the kid. It's not fair to it. And it's not fair to me. I want to have kids with the woman I love, maybe I didn't mean right at this point, but I mean, we were going to have children anyways. I'm already so excited." He had made a good point.

"You're right. I guess I'm going to be a Mama."

"You're going to be a Mama." I sat up on the floor. Jimmy sat beside me and wrapped his arms around me, kissing my head. "I guess we should make a doctor's appointment."

"Let's do that now." I walked into the kitchen and grabbed the phone off the wall, dialing my family doctor's phone number. "Hi, I'd like to make an appointment with Dr. Toews for tomorrow, if it's available. Okay, that's fine. Thank you. See you then." I hung up the phone. "Tomorrow at two in the afternoon."

JIMMY'S POV

We were on our way to the doctor's office and Dawn was panicking in the passenger seat. "It's going to be okay baby, I promise." I parked the car and we walked into the building. Dawn checked in a the front desk and then sat in the chair next to me. Within five minutes, the doctor was calling for us to come in. We walked in and Dawn sat on the table, while I sat on the chair next to it.

"What seems to be the problem today?" the doctor asked.

"I'm pregnant, so I just wanted to make sure everything was okay." Dawn said.

"Okay, did you take a pregnancy test?"

"Yes, a home pregnancy test." I added.

"Those aren't always one-hundred percent accurate. I think we should do some blood work." Dawn nodded and took off her jacket, rolling up the sleeve to her shirt. He took the blood work and went to put it in the lab. "It will come back within a few minutes. The lab is right here in the building, downstairs." A few minutes later, the doctor came back with the results. "I'm sorry to say this, but that pregnancy test you took must have been wrong because your blood work is coming back clear." the doctor said.

"Oh." Dawn said.

"Are you fucking serious?" I stood up off the chair. "Why would they let us take those fucking tests if they aren't even right?" I was mad.

"Sir, please calm down."

"Baby, it's okay. Sit down." Dawn said, grabbing my hand. We left the doctor's office and it was a silent car ride home. "Come on baby," Dawn intertwined her fingers with mine while I was driving. "we'll have kids one day, like you said." She rubbed her thumb over my hand. I was instantly comforted. She was my comfort. I felt the best when I was with her. I was truly in love with her.

"Baby, let's go on vacation. Let's go on a cruise!" I pulled into the driveway to the house, shutting off the car. We got out and I locked the doors. We walked into the house and I picked up the newspaper, sitting on the couch. "There's a travel agency not too far from here, let's go tomorrow and find somewhere to go. We never got a honeymoon, so this will be a late one. I need a break from all this chaos." I said, looking at Dawn as she sat down. I pulled her closer to me and we laid there on the couch for the majority of the rest of the day.
