JULY 1970

JIMMY'S POV

Today was Kashmir's third birthday. We were throwing a party this afternoon for her. She has grown so much, she's walking and talking. She never shuts up. Dawn and I were making chocolate chip pancakes for her. Apparently, it's her favourite food. I don't know how, because neither Dawn nor I have given her any. But she asked and we made them anyways. Once the pancakes were done, we put three candles in them and smothered them in whipped cream. Dawn lit the candles and I carried the plate to the table. "Happy birthday baby!" Dawn said as Kashmir blew out her candles. I went into our bedroom and brought out the presents. We got her a tricycle, some big blocks, and a Cinderella and Snow White outfits, with the shoes and wigs and everything. Kashmir suddenly didn't want anything to do with the pancakes once she spotted the presents. She ran over to them and started trying to open them. We attempted to give her cake but she just made a mess. I got a couple photos of her with icing all over her. We had to decloth her so her new Cinderella outfit wasn't ruined. She put it on as soon as she opened it. At the moment, she was in her diaper with pink and purple cake frosting everywhere. She was so cute.

Sooner than later, the party ended and I was giving Kashmir a bath. She was playing with her rubber ducks. A couple minutes later, Dawn walked in with her hand behind her back. "Mommy and Daddy forgot to give you a present earlier." she moved her hand and it was rubber whales and sharks we bought her at Marineland earlier that summer. We soon put Kashmir to bed and were sitting on the couch, watching I Love Lucy. Dawn loves this show. I think it's a brain dead show but she loves it, so we watch it. I was watching the show when I felt a hand graze up my thigh, under the blanket. I licked my lips and tried to concentrate on the show. Dawn's hand kept moving further up my leg, until it reached my pants zipper. I glanced over at her while as I felt her undoing my belt. Her eyes were glued to the TV, and yet she was doing this with one hand. Once she had undone my zipper and pulled my member out, she spit in her hand and started stroking me slowly. She started moving a little bit faster. I bit my lip and my breath hitched in my throat. I closed my eyes and her hand left me very quickly. I opened my eyes to see Kashmir standing there, in front of us, with her stuffed dog. It was her 'Floki 2'. "Why are you awake, baby girl?" Dawn asked her.

"I had a bad dream." Kashmir answered, rubbing her eyes. I pulled the blanket up in a bunch to hide the fact I was as hard as a rock. Dawn looked at me and motioned to go upstairs. I stood up and said goodnight to Kashmir. I went upstairs and laid down on our bed. My God, where did that come from? That was so fucking hot. A few minutes later, Dawn came in the room and laid down next to me.

"She was scared because she thought the Evil Stepmother was coming to get her." Dawn giggled. I chuckled and shook my head slightly.

"She is your kid." I said, earning a light punch to the shoulder.

"She's your kid too." I laughed and kissed her cheek.

"So, what happened down stairs, where did that come from?" I asked, looking at her.

"I don't know." She shrugged. "I guess it's just been a bit and I was turned on." she said.

"Dawn, we had sex like three days ago." I looked at her, confused.

"Yeah, but remember when we first got together, we were constantly fucking. Three, four times a day. Whenever we got the chance." She looked away.

"I know but now we have a child, baby. And now I think I know why." I laughed. She smiled a bit. I used my hand to make her look at me. "Would you like to have sex?" I grinned and chuckled a bit.

"Um, yeah." She said, giggling. I kissed her lips gently as she smiled.

The next morning, I woke up with an empty bed. I figured Kashmir woke Dawn up at some ungodly hour in the morning. She tends to do that. I got out of bed and put clothes on, before going downstairs. Dawn was outside on the porch, watching Kashmir on her tricycle. It was so cute. I grabbed a cup of coffee and went outside to sit with Dawn. "Morning baby." I smiled and kissed her forehead. Kashmir was riding in circles around the fountain in the compound. She looked like she was having the time of her life. I waved at her once she spotted me. She waved back and went on riding her bike.

"She didn't even want breakfast, she wanted to come out here." she smiled as I sat in the chair next to her.

"What time did she have you up today?" I asked, sipping on my coffee.

"Five-thirty. She's had me up earlier." Dawn laughed.

"That's very true. I don't know why she only wakes you up. I've told her she can wake me up as well." Dawn shrugged.

"It's okay. I love it." Dawn sighed.

"What's wrong baby?" I asked.

"You know how I put money away from my father, for Kashmir's school, right?" I nodded. "Well, I want to use some of what's left and buy a house, away from the compound. I want to get away from this chaos."

"Baby, I know you're very cautious when it comes to Kashmir, but we're safer here. I think we should stay here as long as your uncle is Don." I stated.

"That's very true about the safety part, but like I don't want her growing up, knowing what this family does." I nodded.

"Everything will be okay." I kissed her forehead.
