Chapter 2.5: My Resolve

Two days before departure......

Meden approached Princess and asked her to come with her alone in her room. Princess followed her until they're inside of Meden's room.
"What did you want to talk about?", Princess asked her.

Meden inhaled deeply and exhaled heavily. "Are you sure you're going Princess? I don't know how much Chin and Kan trained you but, I can't guarantee your safety." Princess didn't said anything. She was silent. "I wanted your safety to be the first priority of all in this journey. If we can't protect, then we failed as your servants.", Meden said while bowing her head.

"Lift your head, Meden. There's no need to bow like that." Princess voice was very deep yet calm in the same time. "I'm not gonna abandon this important quest. I wanted to see him again with my own eye. He was my friend. The only one who can understand me. Without him, I don't know what is the meaning of my life."

"But your Highness! What happens if you got hurt or died in a battle?! What will happen if you die now?! Our kingdom will fall to ashes!", Meden explained to her while shouting in the same time.

"Don't worry Meden. I won't die. I'll make sure come back without no harm. Plus, I'll set a barrier around the Kingdom in order for it to stay hidden. And besides, I already explained everything to the Zigotons. If something happens, they will come save the day, okay? So please don't be upset if I leave", Princess replied with her calming tone and in the same time, she hugs Meden in order to calm her down.

"But, Princess! How can we know that you're still safe?", Meden ask her in a confused voice. "We can make Kan to summon a dove bird every evening and send it to you. If the dove bird didn't manage to come back after a week, presume it either something wrong happen.", Princess told Meden.

Meden wipes her tears and look back at Princess. "Your Highness, I'll let go on your journey. But you must come back before this year will end." "I have 7 months left, right? We're sure we'll gonna make it back! So please, just pray for us that nothing happens. Well then, I should be going now. I still need to prepare my luggage and weaponry for the journey." Princess walks towards the door before suddenly, Meden stopped her. "Before you go, don't forget to take this." She hands Princess a necklace. The necklace looks like a pearl necklace but in the middle of the necklace, it has a diamond on it. "What is this for?", she asked Meden. "For good luck.", she replied. "Wow, this is pretty! Thank you, Meden!" She thanked and afterwards she went to the door and started to prepare for their journey.
