Chapter 7: Learning about Renki

~Two weeks later~

"Where is that brat?", Ton said angrily while wiping his spear. "Who, Chin?", Renki asked him with a confused tone. "Yeah. He told us to wake up early to help us discover your skills and help you train. Yet he's the one late! Can you believe that guy?!.", he shouted angrily.

"Calm down Ton. Chin said that if he doesn't show up 10 minutes after the appointed time, we'll go ahead and start the training.", Kan said to Ton while preparing their lunches. "But Kan, is it okay?", Renki asked her. "What?" "To come along in this training." "Well, it was Lady Meden's order to investigate your power and abilities. Besides, you have a lot to tell us about your skills we seen on our journey 2 months ago.", she replied to him while busy carrying their packed lunch on their carriage.

"Oh my! That looks delicious!"

"What the-", Renki suddenly said before the figure was suddenly ignited. "VOLCANO!", Kan suddenly shouted and waved her staff towards the figure while Ton suddenly throw a dagger to the figure. It screamed in pain and run towards a nearby pond to extinguish the fire. "That's what you get for being late.", Ton said as he walked towards the lake. "And also, didn't I warn not to appear anywhere you like?", Kan said coldly as she stepped on the figure.

"What the hell was that?", Renki asked them. "Well, ask Chin. He's the one who knows the secret technique of the Myamsar.", Kan said. "Ow, that really hurt!", Chin said as Renki supported him. "It's your fault for always sleeping late", Kan told him while finally doimg the finishing touches on her weapon.

"Well, excuse me for always sleeping late but who was the responsible one who always look after the Kingdom especially during the night?", Chin asked them both. "Okay, enough is enough you three. We need to get going.", said a voice. "They all turned around saw Hatapon with his flag behind his back. "What are you doing Hatapon?", Renki asked him. "I just wanted to see you train.", he replied while smiling. "Okay, let's go guys!", Kan shouted excitedly. "Yeah!"

~At the Patapon Training Grounds~

"Home sweet home", Chin exclaimed while facing the training grounds. "What is this place?", Renki asked. "This is the 'Patapon Training Grounds' where we train to our heart's content.", Kan explained while picking a flower. "We must first test your endurance and defense. Chin, can you defend Renki for the second wave for the 'Defense Practice'?", Hatapon asked. Chin nodded while Renki asked, "What's the 'Defense Practice'?"

Ton pointed at two cannons. "Huh? That's it?", Renki asked in confusion. "Don't underestimate it, Renki.", Hatapon warned him. "Let's start!", Kan shouted. Renki began to do the defense stance. The cannons started to fire. At first it was slow because it was the first wave. Renki managed to survive with no bumps or hit from the cannons. "Oh, you have quite the endurance, defense and speed for a Myamsar type.", Ton exclaimed while keeping his cool because he can't believe what he just saw. "Yeah, you're speed is quite the case! But, I wonder......", Kan smiled sarcastically. "What are you implying at Kan?", Renki asked confusingly. "Nothing..", she replied. "Renki, let's go.", Chin said. "Okay...?"

The second wave was much harder. Renki sometimes ran behind Chin because of the packed speed of the cannon balls. But despite of the situation, Renki managed to survived the wave unscathed. By this time, Ton, Kan and Hatapon stood their speechless. What they have observed is that the more Renki began to tire out, his endurance boost up. Renki doesn't have the same defense unlike Chin but his speed is quiet the monster and so his endurance. "Hm..... okay, that was crazy...", Kan said while staring at Chin and Renki. Ton was dumbfounded for a moment while Hatapon can't say the words he wanted to shout.

~Later~

"That was a nice practice!", Chin said to Renki while wiping off his sweat. "Say, Chin?" "Yeah, what is it Renki?"
"What's going on with those three?", he asked while pointing at Ton, Kan and Hatapon. Chin looked at them and saw that Ton was glaring at Renki while Kan and Hatapon are talking.
