Patapon: The Return of the Hero

Chapter 14: We accept you the way you are!

Previously on Patapon: The Return of the Hero:
Renki explained to Princess about his existence. He was created by Hero but he doesn't remember why he was created. He also added that Hero can no longer be revived because he use his soul as his sacrifice to create a miracle that is impossible to achieve.

Princess acknowledged it and will try to help Renki uncover his existence.

Present:
The next day......
Renki woke up very early to prepare for the big day which is tomorrow. He was still a bit flustered about last night. 'Why do I feel a bit strange? All I can remember last night was Princess hugging me. She was very sweet and kind to me. Even though I lied about Hero, she still forgave me. I still remember all the things I did for her when I was still Hero.....' He suddenly shook his head. 'No! I mustn't think like this! I have to focus! We only had one day to prepare for tomorrow!'

He gets up from his bed, clean up his face and then gets ready for the day. He went outside of his room and head to the Barracks where Kan and Chin is waiting. Ton is with Princess again today to prepare the army and the armory that they will use for tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the showdown. The final duel that they will fight.  He opens the door of the Barracks to see Chin and Kan preparing the tools for enchanting. "Oh, you're just in time Renki! Me and Chin are about to go to the Blacksmith to enchant the dagger.", Kan said as she saw Renki walked inside the room. "You can come if you want to. Ton is currently training and Princess is devising a plan for tomorrow's battle.", Chin added.

"Sure, I guess......", Renki replied

The three walked outside of the palace and went to town to visit the Blacksmith. As they walked on the road, they saw the faces of Patapons who have known the impending doom, yet they are still smiling. "Heh, I really miss the days when we were still training.", Chin exclaimed while looking at the Patapon kids who are playing. "Hey, shall we go training together again?", Kan asked while smiling. "Yeah. After we defeat Aliza and the Archfiends and come back here, we will train together again.", Renki said before stopping in front of the Blacksmith.

"How about you stay two stay here?", Kan asked them both. "Yeah sure. I'll keep Renki accompanied.", Chin replied. Kan nodded before opening the door.

"Say, Chin...... What did you think of me when you first saw me?", Renki asked in a quiet tone.

"Hm..... That's a bit of a question Renki. But how about a cute little Patapon who is afraid of the outside world but still curious to it?"

"How so am I curious?"

"You're always asking us about this or that. You're also trying out different kinds of weapon or eating different kinds of food.", Chin replied before sighing.

"Well, that's true I supposed......"

Chin then inhaled and exhaled before looking at Renki. "Renki, I have a little..... confession to make. I've... eavesdropped a little from your room yestesterday. And I wanted to ask something. Everything that you have told Princess, is it true?"

"...!", Renki looked surprised when Chin said that he eavesdropped. ".....So, have you heard it then?", he asked. Chin nodded.

"*sigh.....* Yes, it is true. I am just a relic or a fragment of Hero's soul. He can no longer be resurrected because both of his soul and body are no longer in this realm."

"I see.....", Chin said before looking a bit down.

"Chin, are you..... regretting it?"

"What?"

"Finding me."

"No. Of course not. Why would I regret it?"

Renki looked away and replied, "I figured that it's better to not to find out the truth."

Chin looked a bit surprised before approaching Renki and patting him on the head. "It's okay Renki. I'm not disappointed. It's just that I'm still confused of your existence."

"Yeah, me too."
"But don't worry about it. I'm sure we can find it someday."

Renki looked at Chin and smiled. Chin blushed and then smiled back.

Later......

Kan stepped outside of the Blacksmith, carrying the dagger on her hands. "Phwaa..... That was a long one. It took me a while to enchant this thing.", she said to herself. She then look over where she told Chin and Renki to stay but they weren't there. "Huh.... Maybe they went back to the palace......"

She walked back to the palace and to much to her surprise, she saw Chin and Renki sleeping together under the trees at the palace entrance. She giggled a bit before waking them up.

"Hey guys, wake up!"

"Huh? Oh it's you Kan.", Chin said before yawning.

"Is it done?", Renki asked.

"Mhm! The dagger is now complete! We can now start the plan for tomorrow.", she replied back.

"Yeah, let's go inside.", Chin said to them before walking towards the Palace Doors. Kan and Renki followed behind him.

They are now going to start the plan to end the battle once and for all.

A/N: It's been awhile guys! Sorry I hadn't been updating much. Lately, I've been in a slump..... But now my motivation has returned! I will now go back in writing!
