Chapter 9: Magical Training

"Ah... What a nice day to train!", Kan exclaimed while stretching her arms. "Well, aren't you eager to train today Kan?", Princess asked while holding her Star Staff that which Kan and Chin forged together to make. This staff looks like a ordinary wand except the star color is gold and surrounding it is by a pair of wings. It can channel five types of Black Magic. Lightning, Ice, Fire, Earth and Wind.

"So Kan, why did you bring me today with Princess?", Renki confusingly asked. Kan then turned around to face Renki. "Well, since you can use magic and conjuring it without any staffs is kinda amazing for a mage. But even though you had a great amount of "Mana" or "Magical Points" or "Magical Energy", it's pretty much useless if you can't use any other spells.", Kan said while she disappointingly sighed.

"Other spells?", Renki asked confusingly. "How about we go to the Training Grounds so that I can explain the properties of magic?", Kan asked both of them. "Yeah, let's go.", Renki replied while holding Princess' hand. She blushed when she saw Renki holding her hand. "HEEEYYY! Can I join on your magic training?", Chin shouted while running. "Sure, why not?", Kan replied.

~At the Patapon Training Grounds~
"So we're here. Okay, how about you two sit down over there while I explain the properties of magic." Kan told while readying her staff. Renki and Princess sat down while Chin is helping Kan. "Okay so first, let me explain the two types of Magic in this world. They are Black Magic and White Magic. Black Magic mainly focused on destructive and offensive spells. For example, Fireball.", Kan explained then she pulled out her Fireball Staff and raised it on the air. Then she started channeling her magic on the staff. Afterwards, she released the charged fireball and it flew towards a practice dummy. The moment the fireball came in contact with the dummy, it exploded. The explosion is minimal but it was enough to ignite the dummy.

Renki and Princess watched in awe while Chin clapped his hands. "That is an example of a basic spell.", Kan said while she dusted off her self. "Basic Spell?", Renki asked while he tilted his head in confusion. "It's a type of spell that is very easy to conjure, channel and cast. Although at the start it is very weak, you can improve it by training a lot.", Princess explained while smiling. "Oh and also Renki, I'm also gonna show you the three spells that Basic Spell has.

First off, Singe.", Kan continued the explaination while showing a drawing of the three spells. "Singe is a fireball attack which I shown you earlier. Next is Volcano which is this." Kan then pulled out her other staff which is a Firewall Staff and then started conjuring. Then she released it. The moment she finished conjuring the spell, a wall of fire suddenly appeared in front of them although it is relatively small. "The last one is Flash Crack Boom.", Kan pulled out the last staff which is a Lightning Staff. She started conjuring and then suddenly, a beam of white lightning appeared and frying the dummy.

"That is all for the Basic Spells of Black Magic. Next is the supportive type of magic or what a Pingrek calls, 'White Magic'." "White Magic?", Renki asked again. "This type of magic is used for healing and supporting allies.", Princess explained while smiling and blushing in the same time. "Renki, come over for a sec.", Chin beckons Renki to come closer. As soon as he come over Chin, he suddenly smack Renki in the head. Renki howled in pain while putting both of his hands on his head. "OW! What did you do that for?!", he asked angrily. "To do this.", Princess replied. "What-", Renki was suddenly cut off when he saw a blue light surrounding him. Then he felt the pain from his head getting better.

As soon as the light vanish, so did his pain. "That's the White Magic we've been telling you. The spell I used just now is called "Heal All". As the name implies, it can heal all wounds." Princess explained while she puts back her Healing Scepter behind her back. "Oh, so in other words, Black Magic is used for offense and attack purposes while White Magic is used for defensive and supportive purposes.", Renki said to both of them. "Precisely correct, Renki. They both have their own purposes. Although, in order to conjure a plethora of spells and magic, you need a high amount of mana.", Kan explained while preparing their lunches.

"That's why we'll gonna train you in order that you can use magic for your own advantage.", Princess added while smiling cheerily. "Hey, um Kan?", Chin asked while Kan is still preparing their food. "Yeah, what is it, Chin?" "I will just go and take a walk around.", he replied. "Sure, just come back before lunch is over. And don't do anything dangerous!", Kan warned him.

~Sonarchy's Palace~
Sonarchy was sitting in his throne sipping his wine. Suddenly, the door of the throne room burst open. "My Lord! I have wonderful news! Our army is now ready to deploy anytime you want.", a Bonedeth General reported while bowing his head. "Hm.. I see. Ready the army for tomorrow. We shall see the downfall of the Patapons and celebrate for their defeat. Oh, how delightful it is!", Sonarchy drink the last of his wine and suddenly stood up. "We shall show those pesky pests who is the boss around here!", he shouted while cackling and laughing.

~Patapon Training Grounds~
Chin stood by a river. He suddenly felt a chill down to his spine when he felt a cold wind hit him. He look up into the sky and said to himself:

"A storm is coming soon...."
