I hold the receiver of the pay phone to my ear and listen to the thunder and lightning outside this little gas station. I had to pull over here because in the dark the rain is too heavy, I can't drive in it.
Finally she picks up on the other end."Hello?" comes her sweet clear voice.
"y/n)!" I gasp.
"Dean? Are you okay?" of course she would ask me this first. (y/n) my sweet little girlfriend. Who I left back at the bunker almost 2 weeks ago.
"Yeah, I'm okay, what about you baby? Are you okay?"
She gives a laugh, "of course I'm okay. Why shouldn't I be?"
"I just have to make sure, because I can't get home tonight,"
She sounds sad when she asks, "You can't be home tonight?"
"No, the storm is too bad. It's too dangerous to leave this gas station until the rain lightens up,"
"Oh..." She sounds so disappointed, "What state are you in?"
"Somewhere in northwest Georgia," I hate disappointing (y/n). She's one of those wonderful people. That make you happy and you just want to do things for.
"Well, that... that's okay honey. Don't worry. Don't worry about it," I hate it when she does this. Tries to make it seem like everything is okay and she isn't hurt by things.
"I'm sorry baby. I know you wanted me to be home tonight," Today's my birthday. And I did say that I would get home tonight. I don't really mind, but I know she cares. She cares about the little things. Cups of coffee, sunsets, books, birthdays and Christmas.
"Just come home safe as soon as you can, okay?"
"Okay, baby. I promise,"
We hang up, and I go hunker down in the gas station store to wait out the storm with Sam.
