Panic

As dianne passed around the kitchen she muttered to herself. She was panicking. Her partner for strictly this year was not getting the two routines down and it was the Thursday before the semi final. He just hadn't gotten the hang of it and dianne was getting worried.

It was 7am and dianne was getting ready to leave her and joes apartment in which she had been living in now for two years. She poured her coffee into her flask and packed her bag. But then she just had to stop. She couldn't function anymore and she was getting stressed. Somehow she felt a panic attack coming on and in a situation like this she would normally let it happen but she knew she had to help herlsef somehow so she ran upstairs and into her bedroom to joe who was still fast asleep in bed.

"joe, wake up quick please"
Dianne said trying to shake him awake.

Joe jotted up quickly, thinking there was something wrong and there was.

"what's up baby?"
Joe asked as he saw dianne shaking

"I don't know. I think I'm having a panic attack. Joe help me I'm shaking"
Dianne muttered

Joe got up and pulled her in for a hug hoping that would calm her down a bit. He pressed a soft kiss onto her forehead and stroked her hair. Dianne had never really had moments of panic like this since going onto strictly but for some reason today she was panicking liek there was no tommorow. Joe had never seen her like this and was worried about her and for her partner who was struggling in the second to last week in the competition.

"shh... Shhhhh. You'll be ok baby and even if you don't get to the final I'll still be proud of you"
Joe told her

"but Joe.... You don't understand"
Dianne said breaking down crying. Joe held her right to asure her she was wirh him and that he wasn't letting go.

"I do understand dot.... I was in the same position once. And yeah its different now but I know how you feel. Don't worry about it honey"
Joe said. He cuddled dianne tightly as she sobbed into his shoulder.
She stayed there for a couple of minutes letting the tears go away naturally. She finally sat up after a while and she looked at joe.

"awww bubba, your really not confident about this are you"
Joe frowned, hating seeing her so upset. And dianne burst into tears again, snuggling her head into the crook of joes neck again she sobbed.

"darling, take deep breathes"
Joe told her and dianne did so

She took deep breathes as joe calmed her down, having reached his hand underneath her top and stroking her back.

"I don't think I can do it"
Dianne whispered to him

"dianne don't say that. If course you can. Dancing is everything to you and you can do it. Remember I can come with you today if you want me to"
Joe said

"if you don't mind please do. I need someone there for me today. But Joe this is my last series you know. We agreed that it was my last series so that we can properly settle down and that but it would be so horrible to go out at This stage. Especially on my last series "
Dianne explained to him

Joe listened to her speak and he wiped away her tears for her.

" I know it would. But how about we put this panic to rest and I get ready quickly and I'll come with you for today. I'll stay for the whole day "
Joe told her

Dianne got up and left joe to get ready. She picked up her bag, putting in the last couple of things. She then sat at the breakfast bar waiting for Joe to come downstairs. After then minutes he did and he wlake sup to dianne placing a protective hand on her shoulder.

"you ok?"
He asked her and dianne nodded

"are you sure? Definitely?"
He added
And dianne nodded again

"can I have a kiss?"
Dianne said quietly

Joe brought his lips to hers and placed a soft kiss on her

"now. Shall we just forget about all the panic and get on with today. See how it goes"
Joe said

"yeah"
Dianne said taking a deep breathe standing up

"well done in so proud of you. Have you got everything?"
Dianne nodded and with that they left to go to training

As dianne approached the training room door she turned to joe seeing her partner through the glass.

"joe i don't think I can do it"
She stuttered

"you can dot you've been doing this for years. Remember if you need to take a break a any point during the day you can"
Joe smiled

"thank you for everything jospeh"
Dianne smiled back before placing her hand on the door handle and walking into the training room
