Takes place in between s2 and S3
GILBERT had one thing he always knew was true. That nothing was more beautiful than spring in Avonlea-well maybe there was one thing more beautiful than spring. Well, person, not thing.
Anne
But Gilbert couldn't think of her like that- not when they had just become better friends and he knew for sure that she didn't think of him that way.
Anyway, it was a lovely spring day in Avonlea, one where the nice warm sun stayed up for ages ages and it never got too hot that it was unbearable. He decided to get out of the house for a while, as it was too nice to stay inside for the whole day.
As Gilbert was walking along the path in the woods, he took in his surroundings. He could see why Anne always talked about how lovely it was out here.
Speak of the devil. Gilbert thought as he saw Anne coming up the path in the other direction.
She was holding a whole bundle of flowers and had a few in her hair.
"Hi there!" Gilbert called out, catching Anne's attention.
"Hi! What're you doing out here? Shouldn't you be back helping out Bash?" Anne responded.
Gilbert shrugged. "He'll be fine for a little bit. I just thought it was too nice today to not be out."
"Well, you're right about that. I convinced Marilla that instead of staying inside and doing chores I should go out. She probably won't be happy about the grass stains on my dress but I hope that these lovely blossoms will make up for it." Anne said holding out the flowers.
She was rambling a bit, but Gilbert didn't mind.
"Don't you think that flowers are the most magical things on Earth? They are so bright and perfectly romantical. They hold so much joy! Oh to be a nice spring bloom. I can only imagine." Anne continued. "Being a flower holds so much more prospect then when I thought about being a tree. Which would you prefer? Oh-sorry I'm rambling, Marilla says I always do that, you must be busy I'll just be on my way."
"No, no, I was in no rush." Gilbert said. "Plus, I would agree that flowers are perfectly romantical."
