Takes place after S3, ep10

THE boarding house where Anne was staying with the other girls was nice. While there were lots of rules, they all followed them to a tee. The girls were there for school and in hindsight, the rules weren't as strict as when they first arrived. Anne followed the rules perfectly.

Well, except one time.

The rule she broke was simple: "Suitors many only be seen the parlor on Saturdays between two and four."

For the first few months that Anne was residing at Mrs. Blackmore's house that rule was easy. Mostly because Gilbert and her had only seen each other in person once since that day when he left for Toronto. But he was coming back. Well, he was going back to Avonlea for a few days and was stopping in Charlottetown on the way.

The issue was that Gilbert wouldn't be there on Saturday between two and four. He would be there on Thursday between three and five. Their schedules not lining up was one of the worst parts of going to different colleges.

"Oh, I don't know what to do!" Anne called out falling on her bed, next to her bosom friend, Diana.

"It is a quite a problem." Diana said brushing Anne's hair off of her face.

"It's the world's worst conundrum! I want to see Gilbert, I haven't seen him in months but Mrs. Blackmore would never approve."

"I might have an idea."

And so it went. On Thursday at exactly 2:45 Diana and Anne both grabbed their hats and parasols and told Mrs. Blackmore that they were going for a nice walk in the sun, and not to worry, they would be home before supper.

This gave them just enough time for Anne to get down to the train station to meet Gilbert and to keep Diana busy, she was going to meet a friend from one of her classes so they could study.

As Anne parted ways from Diana, she hurried making sure that she wouldn't be late. As she arrived at the train station, she looked at the clock and saw that Gilbert's train would be arriving any minute. Anne couldn't take it much longer. She had missed Gilbert so dearly ever since that had last seen each other, and even though they wrote every so many letters back and forth, it just wasn't enough.

Anne was brought out of her thoughts by the sound of the train pulling into the station. She looked up at the windows, hoping to catch a glimpse of Gilbert before he got off the train.

There he was! As Anne caught sight of him, she remembered something she had said to Diana once; "He looks like he just galloped out of a novel."

"Anne!" Gilbert called stepping off the train. To Anne, it felt like a novel. The part where the heroine had been separated from her one true love, and now, now they were together at last.

"Gilbert!" Anne cried running up to him and giving him a hug.

"I thought you said you wouldn't be able to make it!"

"I wasn't, but Diana thought of the most clever plan and now I'm here and you're here and it's all perfect!"

That was how the day went; perfectly. Anne and Gilbert took a walk through the park by Anne's boarding house, and then to Anne's favorite place by Queen's the library (of course) and finally they ended by sitting under a tree reading a book.

"I can't believe I won't be able to see you for such a long time." Gilbert said, brushing a piece of Anne's hair off her face.

"Me either."

They sat there and stared at each other for a moment before- off in the distance, the clock tower rang.

"Oh! I'm going to be late!" Anne said jumping up.

Gilbert got up beside her. "I guess this is goodbye for now. I'll write to you soon." He said

And then he quickly pulled Anne in for a kiss.

Anne would never grow tired of kissing Gilbert. They could kiss for a million years and it would still be absolute magic.

As they parted ways, all too soon, Anne rushed back to the boarding house to see Diana pacing outside.

"Anne! You were almost late!" Diana said taking Anne's arm as they hurried inside.

"I know, I'm sorry, but it was magic Diana."

They pushed open the doors of the boarding house, just before Mrs. Blackmore was stepping out to greet them.
