Chapter 5
Ella was having a real hard time sneaking away. Everyone was just about to have lunch when she decided to leave. She headed to the door and she was stopped by her mother. Ella groaned to herself and followed her mother to get some lunch. She would have to eat quickly so she could sneak away.
Ella chose what she wanted for lunch and then she went into the lounge room to eat. At least she was allowed to eat in the lounge room. As she was getting her lunch, she was glad to see that Mia and Catania were getting along. It seemed that Mia liked Catania and Ella was glad of that. Mia could have Catania and Ella could have Cody.
That was fair.
When Ella finished eating, she put her plate in the bin and she proceeded to leave. She headed for the door and she was stopped when she heard a familiar voice.
Why did Cody have to come and talk to her now?
As much as she liked him, Ella didn't feel like talking to him right now.
Ella looked back and realised that as Cody was heading towards her, he got distracted by his father.
Ella smiled.
That was her opportunity to sneak through the door without anyone noticing.
Ella opened the door quietly and snuck out.
She did it.
And no one saw her leave.
Now she had to get to the shopping centre.
As Ella was walking to the shopping centre, she felt her mobile vibrating in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw a message from Kayla on the screen:
I am here now. Where are you?
Ella read the message and sent one back:
I am just leaving now.
What took you so long? I have been waiting for hours.
Ella laughed at the message because it was typical Kayla humour. Ella raised an eyebrow and texted a message back:
I haven't been that long. What time did you get there?
I have been here since dawn.
Ella laughed again. Sometimes Kayla could be so overdramatic, but Ella couldn't talk. She was being a bit overdramatic with her feelings for Josh:
Really?
Ella felt her phone vibrate again with Kayla's reply:
No. I guess I am just bored.
Have you seen Josh yet?
I saw him and Ada go in, but I haven't followed them. Are you going to tell me what this is about?
Ella was hesitant before she replied.
She didn't think.
She asked Kayla if she could come and help her spy on Josh's date. It never crossed her mind that she would have to tell Kayla about it. But she couldn't really keep it secret now because obviously Kayla would want to know why she was spying on Josh. She soon sent a message back:
It will be better to tell you in person. I will be there in four minutes, at the most.
Okay, I'll be waiting.
Ella then put her mobile back in her pocket and walked faster to the shopping centre. It didn't take her long to get there and she didn't even know the town properly yet. She guessed that the shopping centre was so large and obvious that a blind person couldn't miss it. Ella laughed at her thoughts before she greeted Kayla who was waiting out the front.
