Chapter 15

Tom really wanted to get his mother back into riding. He had been reading in his room every afternoon after school trying to come up with a good way to get her back in the saddle. But he was having a hard time coming up with anything.

Tom remembered when Josh, Ella and Kayla said they would help him come up with ideas.

Well, some help.

They hadn't even approached him since camp with any ideas that they may or may not have come up with. They said they would help so why hadn't they?

Tom decided that he was on his own now, and he had a really hard job.

For a break, Tom returned his attention to his brother. Seeing as he had been occupied by getting his mother to ride, he hadn't had time to prank his brother. It was time for another prank, but as usual (at the moment), he couldn't work out what to do.

Tom went into Leo's room and tried to get an idea of what to do.

He got nothing.

Maybe the prank pulling would have to wait until Nicole got back on a horse, or even better, until school the next day.

Tom smiled. There were plenty of pranks that Tom could have pulled on his brother at school, and Tom couldn't wait to see what he could do.

Tom smiled to himself again.

Pulling a prank on his brother at school would be great.

Tom then went to his mother and father's room to find some shaving foam.

He couldn't find anything.

It seemed that his father had hidden the shaving foam because of the time when he and Leo glued the things to the shelves in their parents' room.

Tom groaned.

Just decided he would just have to think of something else.

Tom went into the paddock to spend some time with his horse. And he smiled when he saw his mother working with her horse. She had Jim tethered to the post and she was grooming him. Tom then got Charley and tethered him next to him so he could groom him.

Tom smiled at his mother, "what are you doing?"

"Jim looked a little lonely so I thought I would come and spend some time with him," replied Nicole.

"Did you know Leo has a girlfriend?" asked Tom as he started grooming his horse.

"Does he?" Nicole smiled, "who is she?"

"Mia Little. He is texting her all the time. Isn't he a little too young for a girlfriend?"

Nicole smiled, "I don't think he thinks of Mia of his girlfriend, sweetie?"

"Really?"

"No, and even if he did, your father wouldn't allow it. Both of you are too young for a girlfriend."

Tom nodded in agreement, even though he didn't understand. Riley had girls all over his mind when he was his sons' age, so it was a little weird now.

But now it was time to change the subject, "I wonder what Jim's old owners were like," said Tom as he tried to get his plan in action.

Nicole then patted Jim on the neck, "they were horrible. They just kept him as a paddock horse and spent no time with him."

"So, he never got to show his full potential?"

Nicole shook her head.

"But he could be an amazing jumper or something," said Tom.

"I agree, but he has a better life now that he is here," replied Nicole.
