Chapter 14

Waking up in her room at her aunty and uncle's place was quite nice. It was like a holiday, and Ella was glad that she had a great sleep. She thought that she would have been up all-night thinking about what happened with Ada, but she wasn't. Actually, she slept like a baby, and she was glad of that.

But now she had to deal with facing Ada after what happened, and she wasn't looking forward to that.

Ella and Mia got up and went into the kitchen to make themselves some breakfast. Ella looked at her little sister and saw that she was standing awkwardly next to the bench. Ella then noticed that Cody had made his presence known in the kitchen and he was coming to also have some breakfast.

Ella looked at Mia, "don't look so worried."

"We are in our pajamas in a strange house. It is weird," replied Mia.

Ella smiled and nodded in agreement, "maybe it is, but Cody doesn't mind. Look; he is in his pajamas as well."

"But it is his house."

Ella just smiled and continued getting her breakfast. She knew that she was going to have a miserable day at school, so she was just going to have to be happy at home. Ella then decided to stop thinking as she got her cereal. All the thoughts on her mind were just annoying and making her worried. So, as she told herself that, Ella went to the table with her cereal and got started with her breakfast.

"Someone's feeling better," said Cody when he joined Ella at the table with his own breakfast.

"For now," replied Ella.

"What do you mean?"

"I am going to have to see Josh and Ada at school."

"I'd like to be there with you."

"Would you?"

Cody nodded, "I am your bodyguard, aren't I?"

Ella smiled. She wished Cody could have come with her.

"It's going to be more than likely that Ada will have gone to the principal. You are just going to have to ignore her and take any punishment you get," said Cody.

"Is that what you did?" asked Ella, "when you were in school?"

Ella knew about Cody's bad boy past in high school, and she was interested to hear more about what he was like.

"I protested every punishment I got," said Cody.

"Did you ever get expelled?" asked Ella.

"Of course, I did."

"What did you do?"

"I punched someone."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I can't even remember it was that long ago."

Ella didn't believe that, "sure you do."

"Fine," Cody groaned, "this guy was getting under my skin, so I hit him."

"Why?"

"He was flirting with my girlfriend."

"Jade?"

"No, a girl I dated before Jade."

"Who?"

Cody took a bite of his toast, "she's in the past."

"So?" asked Ella.

"So, I don't talk about my past."

"What do you have to hide? An illegitate child with her?"
