Cult of Koser

Lady decided to move to Two Ponds. There was not much reasoning behind the move aside from an itch for adventure. She had just had her first flight of her current reincarnation, so she was ready to go.

She did not bother to mention any of this to anyone, she simply headed out. Most of the weyr was out of sight; only Bacon was nearby, drinking at one of the ponds. The wyvern did not even glance in her direction. It may have been helpful if Bacon had...she might have been able to warn Lady that she was headed the wrong way. Not that Lady would have listened anyway...

The young plasma traveled for two days, completely lost. He wings ached and her limbs were stiff from exhaustion. She was thirsty, hungry, and tired. At last, she spotted some trees in the distance. She struggled forward and eventually made it to the water.

While this was definitely not her original destination, Lady was plenty satisfied with finding herself at One Pond. She drank her fill and snacked on a fat fish that she had just barely managed to catch. She began to settle down for a nap when she was startled to hear the pitiful wail of a plasma kit.

Looking around,Lady spotted an opal plasma kit scrambling toward her. She gave a greeting to the little one and connected their minds.

Lady! Kosers at Three Pond!

Lady was startled by the familiar thoughts.

Glay?

The baby opal affirmed her identity and when on to explain her death.

Apparently, not long after Lady had left, a massive group of dragons descended on the weyr. Without introduction or reason, the group immediately set about attacking every living thing in the vicinity. There was no doubt that this group was the Cult of Koser-followers of the son of Death.

Kross and May had been away at the time and many others of the weyr head been at other ponds either raising young or doing some other tasks so the damage was minimal. Glay, Bean, Bacon, Zureta, and a few unknown dragon-kin all perished in the attack. Cena, Silver, and Silent all managed to escape and had hidden themselves well.

Lady digested the information quietly before asking about Pookie. Glay explained that the worm had been out with May, but no doubt it would return and avenge them as soon as they knew what had happened. The two watched the sky uneasily. At times like this, when the weyr was scattered, they could only wait and hide to regrow in strength.

The two were soon joined by more members of the weyr, some sub adults and others newly hatched. A few other victims of the Kosers that were not allied with the weyr also came to seek shelter. The desert was very quiet as they all feared the worst. They waited until all of them could fight and headed back to Three Ponds. Unexpectedly, there was no sign of the aggressive dragon-kin cult.

As they approached, Pookie popped out of the sand to intimidate them before it realized who they were. The worm then sent mental images to those it knew showing what it had returned to.

Pookie and May had come back as swiftly as they could as soon as they realized there was a problem. Pookie was far faster than May, so it reached Three Pond first. The worm had lurched out and tried to attack, but the cult had a fire dragon with them and the worm was easily seen. To attempt to make them let their guard down, Pookie tunneled out of sight and waited.

As May was nearing, Pookie approached once more, but the worm returned just in time to see the cult flying off in the horizon and disappear into the desert. There were no ponds where the cult was headed. No food. They vanished just as mysteriously as they had appeared.
