RICKY stood in the middle of his kitchen, wooden spoon in hand as he began to softly tap the metal baking tray he was holding with the spoon - yes, practising the easiest thing that Ricky had to do was something that everyone would've probably judged him for, but the more that the brunette thought about that moment in the production, the more he realised that there was an actual beat to it, and the thought of missing that beat made Ricky extremely anxious.
He could hear the music playing in his headphones, 'Work This Out' playing repeatedly on a loop and Ricky was so invested in the music he was listening to through his headphones, that he was startled when he felt someone place a hand on his shoulder – the boy whipped round to see his dad standing behind him, and Ricky was so surprised to see him home from work so much earlier than usual, that he bashed the metal tray in his hands with the wooden spoon.
Ricky's dad furrowed his eyebrows, clearly confused.
"Did you just bash a tray a me?" Ricky's dad chuckled as Ricky pulled out his headphones, blushing a little. "Actually, never mind that, why are you even holding my baking tray? And why the wooden spoon? Ricky, are you okay?"
"I was practising," Ricky mumbled, a little embarrassed that he had been frightened so much by his dad's early return home from work that he had hit the baking tray at the man in a panic. "For the musical."
