𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐈 stood in the kitchen doorway of her home with Carlos, watching on as Seb sat with both her moms in the living room, laughing about something that Nini didn't quite catch. She hadn't seen any of them so happy in quite a long time.
"Sometimes, I think they love him more than they love me," Nini chuckled, turning to the tan brunette stood beside her, who's eyes were fixated on the blonde boy in the living room, small smile on his face and stars in his eyes.
"I wouldn't blame them," Carlos mumbled softly, his lips upturning into a smirk, obviously ready to say something cheeky. "I love him more than I love you."
'Love him'. That statement would never not make Nini feel all funny inside. From the moment that the word 'love' had broken her and Ricky apart at the beginning of junior year, the word has lost some sentiment - it almost felt like a hollow word, a word that didn't really mean much. But when Ricky had declared his love for Nini after opening night, the word has been almost revitalised.
Every ounce of magic had been pressed back into the word when Seb and Carlos had started saying it, and after that, the word was almost new again. It had taken them a few months to get to the point of declaring that they loved one another, but it had come so naturally, almost like they'd been saying it right from the very start, and once it had happened, the word came to them like it was nothing.
