My alarm rings at five in the morning. I grab my phone and slide the screen to stop the annoying sound. I lie back again after turning it off.
It's welcome week and today, we're going to have a Campus Tour and an orientation but I am not going. They say you'll miss half of your life when you failed to attend these events but I'm still not going. It's fine at least I still have the other half.
"Calli, get up. You'll be late for orientation." Draine wakes me up. I don't know what time it is now but Draine is already fully dressed. She's on a white Chanel top that matches with her black tight jeans and white sneakers.
I check my phone and it's now 8:30 "I'll skip." I shift to the other side and I feel the mattress push down as Draine sits on it.
"Get up. It will be fun!" She removes my comforter and I pull it up again.
"I don't want to go." She shakes the bed to disturb me from my sleep. "That won't do." I stand up and sleep on the floor.
"It's dirty down there."
"If I want to sleep, I can sleep anywhere." I hear her sigh. It didn't take long for her to give up. When I heard the door closed, I quickly sit up.
I want to go straight to class. I don't need to smile and be all friendly with new students around me. I can survive the whole semester without attending an orientation. I'm cutting myself with the society again.
I stare at the ceiling for a few minutes thinking of what's ahead of me before going out to shower. We don't have a private bathroom in here so I need to go out at the communal shower. Right after, I dress up with my usual all black outfit from top, pants to my boots. I put my red hair up in a messy bun and wear my bandana on, as I always do.
The curly girl goes out of her room the same time I do. I was surprised when she speaks.
"Are you skipping the orientation?" I stop from walking to face her.
"Yeah. Why?" She didn't answer my question.
"Where are you going?" She walks closer. I look at her and she's also wearing an all black outfit.
"I don't know. Anywhere my feet lead me to." Honestly, I am not planning to go anywhere. I'll just take few walks at the garden and then I'll go back to the room.
"Do you want to come with me?" Her eyes doesn't give any expression. It doesn't change.
"Where?"
"Don't ask too many questions. If you want to come then follow me."
I follow her to the parking area. She walks too fast and I even lost my sight of her. A black BMW stops in front of me. The driver seat's window slides down. The curly girl raises her brows at me then moves her head telling me to go inside. I hop inside and she immediately drives out of the area.
I hope I can still get out alive with her fast driving. My right hand is tightly gripping on the handle to steady myself.
"This is the slowest I can go." She enters the parking area.
We are at an music agency building. I read the name at the entrance— NewEra Entertainment. The moving LED billboard outside the building flashes a boy group. I don't know them but I guess they're famous here in Montréal.
"What are we doing in here?" I notice the people who we passed by bow at the girl with me. I can feel their fear and awkwardness towards her.
I don't know if it's a good idea to come with her. She looks like she's going to kill someone. She presses the sixth floor button on the elevator. When we arrived at the right floor, she makes her way to a very big office. She is about to open the door when a lady blocks her.
