21—Renleigh Kensington

I felt so light and well-rested when I woke up that I kind of forgot where I was. It took me a couple of seconds to realise what happened. The room was dark and quiet which was nice because waking up to the craziness of it all would have been overwhelming.

Slowly, I glanced around. There was a bed a little closer to me but empty. It looked like someone was using it, hopefully Harry because I didn't want a randomer in the room. Then between the two beds was a smaller one, I assumed it had wheels and everything on it. That must have been the one they placed the baby in. It was also empty.

Okay.

The baby was out of me. It was in the real world. I still didn't know if it was a girl or a boy but that was fine. Harry most likely knew it already which was also fine. I pulled him along long enough. My only question was—where were they?

I kind of really wanted to see the baby. I wondered if it was a boy or a girl. I wondered how they looked. I only heard them cry faintly before I lost my consciousness. I wasn't sure why it happened because I didn't feel faint and although the stress and newness of the birthing process could have overwhelmed me, I didn't think it would do so to this extent.

After a few more minutes, I saw a shadow appear in front of the door, the glass design letting it slip that I had a visitor. But I knew who it was, even from the outline. Harry had a very specific silhouette or maybe I was just too used to it.

He didn't know I would be awake because he pushed down the door handle gently and I heard him mumbling as soon as he revealed himself. That's when I realised, he had the baby in his arms. He was talking to it, which didn't do me any good. The baby was the size of his arm as he cuddled it to his chest and kept it safe and sound.

Yep.

Charlotte was absolutely correct when she said I would fall in love with Harry all over again as soon as the baby will be with us.

"Oh, hey," Harry spoke a little louder which made me glance up at him. My smile only widened as I watched him walk closer.

"Hi."

"How are you feeling?" he asked me, the tone of his voice the softest it has ever been. It was like he didn't want to wake the baby or make unnecessarily loud sounds. He was so fucking gentle and careful and I loved him so fucking much.

"I'm... feeling," I chuckled. "You?"

"Me?" he asked back with a breathy laugh, almost as if he couldn't believe I would ask him the question. "I'm relieved. Happy. Most likely the happiest I have ever been."

"Yeah?" I smiled as I felt my heart beat a little faster. He didn't only look but he sounded so happy, too. Happy Harry was my favourite. Even with little circles under his eyes and messy hair. "So... what is it?"

"Hm?"

"Did you get the baby you wanted?" I asked curiously. He wanted a girl so bad. He was so happy so I assumed he knew already.

"I—I haven't checked," he told me with a little bit of shyness behind his words. "I wanted to wait for you."

"Stop being so fucking cute," I groaned but couldn't fight my smile back. He was still holding the baby which meant I still haven't seen their face. I was so fucking overwhelmed. I didn't know what I was waiting for. "Where have you been?"

"Well, they needed to do some tests on the baby. Then on the way back, we ran into your dad. And then he said he'll go back to the hotel to get changed an—hey, do you want to... you know, hold them?" he stopped himself as he asked, offering the baby. I didn't know what to say so I just took a deep breath and unsurely looked at him. "Ren. It's your baby. Don't be scared."
