THE NEXT FEW DAYS at school were a living hell for the Brunette girl. More bad than usual.

It started off with Larson and McGill teasing her on the walk to school and unfortunately, she was in the same classes as them from first to third period.

At a point, she nearly even punched McGill in the face.

She truly couldn't stand school. The girls who gave her dirty looks whenever she'd talk to a boy so easily and when she'd actually try during gym class. She had no friends except a girl named Danielle and even she barely talked to her since she had her own group of friends.

"ohh Collins!" she heard an annoying sing-songy voice call out as she began to walk out of the school. she gripped her backpack straps and closed her eyes while sighing. she turned around forcibly and faced the two boys she had been dreading all day.

"what do you want." She said sternly as she looked at them.

McGill smirked, "thats no way to talk to your teammates, now is it?"

"yeah," Larson laughed, "wouldn't want to be on bad terms with your team, now would you?"

Nova scowled and scoffed, "never. would i ever even want to be your teammate."

At the end of her patience, she stomped off without allowing them to say another word. She completely disregarded their laughs and calls to her as she walked along the road leading to her home.

it was just her thoughts that she just wanted to scream out. about how she hates her school, how judgy girls could be, how there were rules and boundaries for girls and guys that you had to follow or else you'd be shunned. She had to talk to someone, and that someone had to be Connie and Guy.

she just hoped that they weren't busy.

Nova looked down at her shoes. there was nothing. no spark, no skates, no gliding, it was just her worn down converse. she began to think then, was it really worth it? was hockey really the life she was meant for?

it was easier when she was on the soccer team. she had friends at her school and they at least would communicate with her. now, they would simply just wave and maybe smile if it was a good day.

she felt as lonely as she's ever been. she feels like she's betrayed her best friends in some way. she has nobody at school to talk to and at home- well it's always been like this. she knew her parents loved her but they were crazy rich and one reason for that is the amount of work they do. she barely even knows where their whereabouts are on a daily basis. by now, she's just learned how to fend for herself.

A series of footsteps snapped Nova out of her thoughts. she felt a presence behind her and she was about to explode.

"oh my god! When are you guys going to get a hint?!" Nova groaned as she stopped and turned to look at the person, "just leave me alone!"

Nova squeezed her eyes shut, not even wanting to see the faces of the boys she had just about enough of, "gee... I was just going to walk you home.."

She opened her eyes cautiously to see Adam Banks standing there awkwardly with his hands in his pockets, rocking back and forth on his heels.

"Adam... hi.." Nova said quietly, "sorry... not the best day for me..."

"yeah, I know... it's alright," He chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck, "been a rough couple days, huh? bet Larson and McGill are a pain"

Nova smiled and began to walk along again with Adam beside her, "yeah you could say that again."

"just don't give them the satisfaction. you get used to them soon enough"
