Chapter 8 Sylvie

We've been at the base for about a year more people have come in some of their powers are pretty useful one person can blind people from light and another can draw people to them by their voice. I walk around the base to get fresh air. " Hey Sylvie," Dominick said I nod my head keeping my mouth closed scared I might throw up. I walk with Dominick to the tent. " So when we invade super blood we should come from the back and sneak up on them," Dominick said I know I can't go but how do I tell him. 
 " Dominick I was thinking maybe we shouldn't go," I said taking a deep breath we've been planning this invasion for months. 
 " We can't just abandon or friends," he said looking at me with confusion.
 " I know it's just I don't feel right about going," I said looking at the map on the table it helps me 
 " So you don't want to go because you don't feel right going we've been planning this for months," he said and now I was getting angry he should be understanding. 
  " I can't go" I shouted looking at him with anger in my heart.
 " Why, why can you possibly not go" he shouted back looking angrier by the second. " Just give me one answer" he said his hand pressed on the table his tan fingers almost white he moves his chest up and down in anger he looks like his father when he gets angry we stand on opposite sides of the tent my arms crossed over my chest I stare at him with a look of anger that I didn't know I could do plants start to climb the tent wall. " Sylvie why can you not go" aHis voice calming down a little probably to calm me down it works a little the plant on the tent wall die and the plants on the floor start to grow flowers. 
  " Because I just can't," I said I wasn't ready to tell him not like this.
 " Just give me one answer". He said looking at me with a look of frustration probably because I wouldn't tell him I finally cave in and tell him.
 " I can't go because I'm pregnant okay," I said my voice was squicky because I was yelling and almost instantly his anger went away and he starts smiling. He jumped over the table not even touching the map on the table or any of the flags He gives me a hug and giving me tiny kisses all over my face I laugh as tears filled his eyes. He kisses my stomach. 
  " You know if we have a girl she'll look like you". He said standing up.
 " What if we have a boy," I ask laughing at him. 
  " He'll probably have my goofy personality and my charming good looks". He said laughing I laugh to thinking about another goofball in the family. "Can we tell Jayce?" Dominick asks looking at me his hand on my stomach. 
  " You can but I'm not," I said looking at him with a smile and he runs out of the tent looking back at me with a smile. Then steps out I laugh and walk out of the tent taking a deep breath I look at everyone they all look peaceful as if there's nothing going on outside of our base or sanctuary the is probably the only place were we can use our powers without worrying about being used as slaves or being executed for having an element power like mine. Jayce walks up to me I brace myself to be yelled at but he doesn't say anything I wonder if Dominick even told him yet. 
  " Did you know about Andrew and Zinnia?" he asks he looked like he could laugh for days. 
  " No, why," I ask putting my hands on my hips trying anything to get myself to not feel sick. 
 " Zinnia came to me and asked how she looked," he said his eyes find my hand that was on my stomach. I really do hate being sick. 
  " That doesn't mean anything," I told him trying not to talk too much. 
 " Yeah but when I said well she walked over to- are you alright," he asked and my eyes widen he will find out he knows me he knows I don't sit down for no reason.
  " Yeah I'm fine what were you saying ". I said sitting on my feet he sits next to me sitting on his elbows. Suddenly I realize I have to tell him he's my brother and I tell him everything.
  " She walked over to Andrew". He said watching me his face is filled with confusion. 
  " Jayce it's probably just a little crush," I said I walk back to the tent swallowing whatever I burped up. 
  " Are you sure you're alright you don't look so good" Dominick really wants to tell him, Sylvie, I thought to myself. Jayce tilts his head. " Tell me what" was I thinking out loud again. 
 I think of a lie fast. " We were planning on going to another location it's much nicer," I said my voice gets squeaky like it always does when I lie. Maybe he didn't notice. He sits down next to me in a chair. 
 " Would you like a drink?" he said pouring a shot of something. This is a test I know it is Jayce is clever always was and always will be.
 " No I really don't want anything it's too early" Jayce arches his eyebrows I never say no to a drink. I look at him with the look of an annoying sister and he just looks at me with a smile. " What," I say chuckling at his smile he moves his finger on the cup from his drink. 
 " Are you finally giving up drinking?" he said and relief comes off my shoulders. " You always go through faces in your life first it was no meat now no drinking-unless," he said he knows, he knows. I think to myself.
 " Yes," I say shooting up in my chair my hands pressed to my lips. 
His eyes lit up and he smiles and almost on cue Dominick walks in. " Are you no you can't be are you two going to have a kid" me and Dominick both nod our heads with smiles on our faces Jayce picks me up spinning me and kissed my cheek he gives Dominick a hug. Laughing he goes to walk out of the tent but I run up to him 
 " You can't tell anyone," I said he looks at me I'm tall enough that he can look me in the eyes without bending his neck. He nods his head and looks at the both of us with a smile on his face that spread from ear to ear but then his smile goes down and he looks at Dominick with anger. 
 " Do you really think it was a good idea to have a kid now?" he said walking up to Dominick fast a look of murder in his eyes Dominick walks backward looking behind him to make sure he doesn't run into anything.
 " Wait a minute you were just happy a minute what happened," Dominick said he hits his foot on the table. 
 " That was before I remembered a war was going on," Jayce said through gritted teeth Dominick moves fast already out the tent door. 
 " You can hit me but you'll have to catch me first," Dominick said teleporting left and right Every time Jayce would get close Dominick would fade away. "Are we still friends?" Dominick asked and Jayce manages to punch him in the eye.
 " It depends," Jayce says " was this planned," he asks 
  Dominick thinks for a minute. " Yes, it was," Dominick said looking at him his blue eye already turning black. Jayce let's go of Dominick's shirt looking at him with an apologetic look. 
" I'm very sorry," Jayce said when they walk back to the tent. I get a bag of ice for Dominick h takes the bag of ice I sit next to Jayce who we sitting with his head in his hands on one of the cots he looks up at me and grabs my hand his hands are filled with calluses and they make my hands look eggshell white. "Is this really what you want Sylvie?" He asked I take a deep breath as he says this everything sets in there's a war and I'm going to be raising a child. I'm thankful I have Dominick not just for helping me but for saving me, saving me from everything from the death of my parents. Tears start to form in my eyes I quickly fake a yawn so it makes it look like my eyes were watering but Jayce doesn't by it he gives me a hug. " Sylvie" 
  " Yes," and I was sure of this word. Having a kid is the one thing that I can have that can bring me joy, not my family not my friends not even Dominick can bring me the joy that Dominick and my child can bring. I put my hand on my stomach and Jayce puts his hand on top of mine Dominick sets the ice down and puts his hand on my stomach I lay my head on Dominick's shoulder and Jayce puts his head on my shoulder. " We have to tell Zinnia," I say picking my head up. 
 Dominick takes a deep breath and looks out the tent door he now's Zinnia more then I do but I do know that Zinnia has a crush on Dominick and so does Jayce and Dominick. " Okay," Dominick says standing up I stand up next to him and Jayce we walk out the tent to Zinnia's tent. " Hey, Zin can we talk," Dominick says I follow Dominick and Jayce follows me. 
 " Yeah" she said she was playing with the fire from her finger but she snaps her fingers and the fire goes away Dominick sits down next to her I go to sit in the cot across from her but she stops me "Here sit in that one" she said looking at Jayce and  we just shrug it off and sit in the one next to the other one. 
 " We need to tell you something," Dominick says her eyes keep going back to the cot I narrow my eyes at the cot but then just ignore it. " You know how when people really love each other they make choices to do things that make them happy," Dominick said Zin nods her head now becomes more nervous. "Well Sylvie and I love each other" Dominick says and Zinnia laughs. Dominick looks at her.
 " I knew it," Zinnia said looking at the two of us with a smile on her face. "And let me guess you two are going to have a kid," she said and Dominick nods his head. "You're not joking," Zinnia says the smile becomes less of a laugh and more of a happy but calm smile. Dominick shakes his head looking at Zinnia with a smile. " I'm going to be an aunt," she said her face was glowing with joy. She hugs Dominick and me, the warmth from her fire warming us with a welcoming warmth. 
 " So you and Andrew," Jayce say and Zinnia looks nervous. Jayce raises an eyebrow. 
 " I just have a little crush on him that's all" Zinnia said and I elbow Jayce as of to say I told you so Dominick walks out of the tent and I follow Jayce follows me and Zinnia comes out the tent door next walking up to me " So who are we going to tell next"She asks standing between me and Dominick. Dominick and I look at each other and I know what he's saying.
 " Zin,  Dominick and I were just going to tell Ana and Andrew ourselves," I say looking at Zinnia she looks back with worry in her eyes. 
  " Unless you want us to wait," Dominick says joking around and Zinnia shakes her head.
 " No, no it's okay," she said looking back at her tent. " I better get back and put my shoes on" I look down at Zinna's feet and she didn't have any shoes on. She runs back to the tent not even bothering to look back at us. Dominick and I walk to Anas. Ana was laughing at Andrew who I'm guessing stubbed his toe Ana turns around when Andrew points behind her tears in her eyes and a smile on her face it was a smile I've never seen even with Jayce next to her she's happy her brothers here.
 " Can we tell the two of you something?" I say holding Dominick's hand. Andrew looks at the two of us with a smile on his. 
" Yeah sure" Andrew says looking at the two of us he scootes his chair up closer to us. Dominick sits down and so do I. Andrew smiles at us he probably already knows being able to read minds surprising him isn't easy. Ana and Andrew could be twins both having black curly hair and green eyes that look like emeralds. No wonder Zinnia has a crush on him, his fair skin and tall slim body makes him look like a rich merchant, and his Irish accent can make any women get goose bumps. ,
 " Dominick and I are going to have a baby." I say and Ana starts to smile she runs up to Dominick and I giving Dominick a hug and he laughs at something she says she gives me a hug next. She's shockingly cold her skin is almost ice and I have to remind myself that she's cold because of her powers when she hugs me. Ana let's go of me knowing that her hugs are cold.  Dominick and I go to walk out of the tent when Ana stops me her hand grips my arm and her fingers are frozen. " I'll be back I just want to talk to Ana." Dominick nods his head a smile on his face he walks out of the tent I knew were he was going he was going to Jayce's tent. " What happened" I ask her looking at her fingers. She looks at them and I can tell she's scared. 
 " I don't know I think when I was in super blood they made my powers stronger but my body can't handle it." She says her voice is shaky and one thing comes to mind does Jayce know, no if he knew he wouldn't even be talking until she was fine. 
 " Is it anywhere else" I ask and she nods her head she takes off her sweatshirt revealing more frost covering her arms and top of her neck the only place it isn't is her heart and head.    "Does it hurt" I ask her touching her arms my plants sprout from my fingers and they wrap around her arms it's something I do when I'm scared and I'm more focused on what's happening at that moment than what my powers are doing.  
 " No it's just cold" she says the frost bite was growing around her as we speak it starts to crawl up her neck I panike, What if that will happen to everyone else. May just have known what I was thinking. " Don't worry, I don't think this will happen to anyone else" she says putting her hoody back on but you could see the frost know. " Sylvie please don't tell Jayce" she bagges I nodded my head but I have to tell someone I'll tell Zinnia she'll be able to help her. " Don't tell anyone promise me you-" she falls to the floor the cold has reached her heart. I do the only thing that I can think of I run to Zinnia's tent Andrew was there to they were talking about meeting in a fort. 
" Zinnia can we talk" I say as calm as possible trying not to scare Andrew. She nods her head and smiles to Andrew. We walk the whole way to the tent without talking and Zinnia starts to know something's up. When we walk in the tent Ana's covered in frost Zinnia swoops in, her skin turning red almost like a heater but it's too hot for anyone to touch. She touched Ana's chest trying to get her heart to warm then she presses her hands to Ana's stomach making her blood in her organs warm. Ana breaths like she's been trying to gasp for air the whole time then she coughs and cold water and chunked of ice spew from her mouth she sits up and Zinnia cools down and lays on the floor heavily breathing I can tell that it takes a lot of energy to use her powers Ana, turns over looking at Zinnia.
 " Are you okay" Zinnia say still out of breath her eyes going from orange to gold Ana nods her head the frost was gone but something tells me it will come back. It's like a bad rash hiding under the skin and coming back whenever it wants. Zinnia stands up and so does Anathey both have opposite powers but they are the same people that have two very lethal powers, but only one will use their powers.
