Lacey's Parents House
10:32 am

"The guest will be here in thirty minutes!" My mom announces as my brothers, sisters, Shawn, and I finish setting up decorations. My dad and stepmom went to go get the powder we're using to reveal the gender of the baby. The doctor emailed them the gender last week.

The backyard has tables for the lunch we're having and each one has pink and blue flower centerpieces. By the back door there is a table and on it two fishbowls. One with blue necklaces, the other pink. There is a sign in the middle that says 'Blue or Pink, what you think?'

Caleb and Macy finish bringing out the food and setting it on the "buffet" table. My sisters are in charge of putting silverware and plates and cups on each table. There are eight to a table. We have all of my family and friends, while Shawn has his band, Connor, Brian, Josiah, bodyguards, Andrew, and family coming.

In total there are around 30 people coming. Noah is setting up the music with the help of Mason who is arguing about what genre to play. Sarah and Liam are putting up balloons everywhere.

The backyard looks absolutely beautiful. "Shawn, I don't know if I can wait to know the gender of the baby!" I whine as I walk over to him. "Neither can I but we need to wait." He hugs me and I take in his scent.

12:00pm

Everyone is eating and chatting while Shawn and I grow more anxious. I look and see Aaliyah, Mari, and Kayla are all over by the fence taking photos. I tap Shawn's shoulder and point. "Watch this." He smirks and runs over to where they are. As they go for a group photo Shawn jumps in. "Shawn!" Aaliyah smacks his arm and grabs her phone. They all look at the photo and Shawn laughs. "Send that to me." He says and walks back over to me.

Before he can embrace me Adeline runs into my arms. "Cole, she absolutely loves me more!" I look to see Cole laughing. "Lacey, who do you love more. Adeline or me?" Cole raises and I eyebrow and I freeze. "Sorry. That's too secret information that no one knows." Adeline gives me a surprised look. "You have to choose now!" She says through a wide grin. "Fine... I love... Connor the most!" I point to Connor and he looks up. "What?" I shrug my shoulders and he chuckles.

They all walk away leaving me and Shawn standing alone again. That's when Karen walks over. "Everyone is almost finished eating. After we clear dishes it's time for the reveal." She takes me hands in hers and squeezes them. "I'm so nervous." I tell Karen and she gives me a smile. "Don't be. This is exciting." She hugs Shawn for a couple minutes and walks away.

About fifteen minutes later all the dishes are cleared and it's time. Shawn stands up on a chair and taps his a fork against a cup. Everyone stops talking and looks at him. There is silence. "Let's find out the gender of this baby!" He yells and everyone cheers. God I told him not to do that.

We stand in the middle of the grass and everyone gathers around us. The photographer we hired takes his stance. Shawn and I close our eyes since everyone is getting powder to throw up into the air. I'm wearing a white dress so this won't end well but I don't care. After a good five minutes I hear Andrew call out good for us to open our eyes.

"So, as everyone knows Shawn and I are having a baby... I mean the bump shows it all." I put my hand on top of the bump and look at Shawn. "Shawn and I are lucky to be surrounded by the people we love the most. We'd like to thank you all for supporting us through everything tough and easy. But most importantly we'd like to thank Andrew... because if it wasn't for his job offer I might have never been able to be standing here revealing the gender of our kid." Shawn kisses me and everyone aw's.
