Stupidity is a talented for misconception. ~Edgar Allan Poe
Michael's POV
"Did I..Do something?" I asked as I watched Luke walk away.
"I didn't think so Michael." Ashton said, giving a confused expression. "I don't know what's up with Luke. Whatever it is, I'm sure its not your fault." Ashton slapped a hand on my shoulder and began to pull me away from the place where we waited for Luke everyday.
I followed the boys, Calum, Ashton, Winston, to go play air hockey. I will admit that it took my mind of my current situation with Luke. Not to mention I am a total pro at air hockey, so I had them beat before they could even pick up their paddles.
"That was so much fun. I say we go and check out that new pizza place. What do you say?" Calum asked. We all agreed and ended up at the Station Plaza where it would be. We got the pizza and when I walked out I hated the glance I gave to the right because when I did I saw the one and only, Darren Sash. Talking to Natalie.
"What's Darren doing with Natalie?" Calum voiced my thoughts. I shrugged and looked at the group. "What I would give to find out.."
"Would you give up Ettie?" Ashton asked.
"Nah I don't care that much." Calum chuckled.
"I do." I said. "Hey Darren!" I saw the man turn his head to me with a wide smile as I approached a wide eyed Natalie and a happy-looking Darren. "Well I didn't know you knew Natalie."
"Well now you know." Darren chuckled. "Where's your little blonde boyfriend? Natalie and I were just talking about you two. She said how she was shocked that he would just abandon you."
"Yeah. Well." I laughed nervously. Abandon? Luke wouldn't abandon me.
Would he?
"So what's going on bud?" Darren asked.
"Just hanging out with the guys." I said as I gestured to the group behind me.
"Oh, are they comfortable around you?" Darren asked.
"What?"
"Well, you aren't exactly straight Michael. That doesn't make them uncomfortable at all?" Darren asked.
"No they're fine with it." I shook my head slowly.
"You go ahead and think that, Mikey. Just be careful, they could leave you at any minute." Darren whispered. "Well it was nice talking! But we gotta run! Bye Michael!" Darren called back to me as he and Natalie walked away.
Was the guys really uncomfortable being around me? Was Luke going to leave me? Should I even trust Darren?
I slumped back over to the guys who wore sad and worried expressions.
"Michael are you -"
"Please take me home." I cut Ashton off with a shaky, yet demanding, voice. "Now."
"Okay." Ashton mouthed and the group brought me to the car where I was brought to my house. I didn't say goodbye to any of them. Instead I ran all the way upstairs and fell back onto my bed.
I was so miserable. My own boyfriend doesn't like me anymore, all my guy friends never one-hundred percent accept my sexuality. I should have never left my got up. Honestly I would be absolutely okay if I could go back to those times.
I would be okay with changing my fate.
I woke up the next morning, well I didn't really sleep. I trudged out of bed and to the school, shockingly enough I was about ten minutes earlier than I normally was. The wind picked up, after all the air had gotten colder and colder as we progress through the year.
