Richie recently got a job. It's very convenient when your high energy, 17 year old best friend needs a job, so Mike had to hire him at the coffee shop. Richie knew Mike from a very young age, and Mike introduced him to some more friends; Bill, Beverly, Stan, and Ben. However, only Bev, Mike, and Stan worked there with him. He was happy to know that he got a good paying job with people he truly trusted.

Richie drove to the cafe, listen to music and hitting his fingers on the steering wheel. After a couple days of training, he was finally ready to fully work. Dressed in some black skinny jeans and a tight fitting black button up. The cafe was small and perfect for those "artistic" or "punk" Tumblr kids who go there to contemplate life, or just some tired college students.

When he finally got to the small cafe, he put on the little green apron in the back, and greeted Mike and Beverly. "Hey guys! Where's Stan?" Beverly snickered, "With his boyfriend. Richie just nodded. It wasn't really unusual. They did tease Stan about him and Bill a couple times, and Richie even join in most cases.

"It's not really busy on these days, but we have a couple regulars that come in," Mike said, walking into the back with a stack of styrofoam cups. It really was not busy. In fact it was empty, but that was kind of a good thing. It was peaceful and quiet. A nice little wooden coffee shop.

That was until, the gold bell above the door rang quietly.

A boy with perfectly tanned skin, brown hair, and honey chocolate eyes strolled in. He had a pastel pink sweater that was slightly over-sized, that was paired with small black shorts. Cute.

The boy smiled up at Richie, and Richie swore it was like the sun itself. "H-hey, how may I help you today?" He cursed himself for the nervous stutter. That was Bill's thing. And in front of the cutest boy possible. 'What the fuck Tozier?' "Can I have a vanilla and mocha frappe?" Richie smiled, "Of course." Eddie beamed and went to go sit down with his laptop at a small table. Richie couldn't stop stealing glances while he worked. Beverly then came out of the back and instantly smiled at the boy. Oh, hey Eddie!" "Good morning, Bev."

Richie had to do a double take. Did that boy really know Beverly that well to call her Bev? And even if the cutie did, why would Beverly never tell Richie she knew him?! He made the now named Eddie's drink and still stole small glances at him. He really wanted to do the whole, cliche 'write your number on the cup' thing, but he just couldn't. He wanted to talk with Eddie a little first. "Order up!" Eddie turned and got off the small chair, Richie didn't even realize that when he sat on it, his feet didn't even graze the floor until now, and that made him smile at Eddie. Eddie approached the counter with a soft look on his face and took the cup in his small, manicured hands. "Eddie, right?" he said as the boy approached. "Yeah. You must be new! I'm a regular and a friend of Bev's," he said and stuck out his hand for Richie to shake, "Nice. And yeah, I'm new. My name's Richie." He smiled back at Eddie just as enthusiastically.

He went to sit back down with a content sigh. He was close enough to the counter that him and Richie could have a conversation without yelling or loud talking, so Richie took this to his advantage. "How often do you come here?" he asked, leaning against the frame of the counter. "Normally everyday." Eddie chuckled. Thank god. He would get to see him everyday. That sounded perfect. "Sweet. I have a feeling we'll be friends," Richie smiled. "I hope so," Eddie said sweetly as he typed.

Richie didn't want to distract Eddie from his work, but he needed to hear his voice. He wanted to get to know him. "Not to be a bother, but, what ya working on?" he asked slightly awkward. Eddie giggled. "You're not a bother. I'm just working on a story for my blog," he said. Richie stiffened a snicker. 'Of course you'd be the type to be a soft writer. Seems right.'

"I can tell what you're thinking," Eddie said a moment later. "What?" "I know that you're making fun of me for writing silly things on a blog. Your thoughts are loud," he giggled slightly. "What?! I'm not judging you in any way, I think it's cute," Richie defended. "Cute?" he said.
"Yeah. Like, you seem like a little soft, tiny writer, and I'm melting right now," Richie said and fake melted, sprawling out on the counter with his arms. Eddie laughed. "You're so obnoxious," he giggle and smiled at Richie. "Only for the sweetest!" he chirped in response.
"Aww, thanks Rich!" "Come here," Richie said, tapping his foot. Eddie nodded and ran up to the counter, he leaned into it with his chin resting on one hand. "Yeah?" Richie smiled the close proximity of their faces. "Give me your number?"

"Give me your phone?" Richie leaned his hand back and brought it out. Eddie took and entered his number. He was about to go back to his seat, but he turned back quickly. "Can I have a cookie...?" he asked, and Richie literally melted internally this time. Eddie was smiling widely and hopping on one foot. "Of course, cutie." As he took the pink chip cookie, Eddie started pulling out a $5, but Richie put his hand over Eddie's and slowly put it down. "It's on the house," he said. Eddie blushed, "thank you!" "No problem. Text me tonight?" Eddie nodded while collecting his things. "Promise."
