Chapter 19

Was he trying to get away or give you space?

~Bakugo

A knock sounds on his door and he groans loudly. Lifting his head to look around, he sees his alarm clock and checks the time. Three AM! What the hell! Bakugo sleepily stands up and grabs his phone as he makes his way towards the door. He grabs the handle and opens it. Standing there is Aizawa with a tired look on his face.

"We've found the scene. We're leaving now." Aizawa says.

Bakugo immediately turns around and grabs his hero suit, quickly putting it on and running out the door towards the front of the dorms. Kirishima, Uraraka, and Iida are standing there waiting in their hero suits as well. Aizawa walks back in the front door a few seconds later, waving his hand for them to come and meet with him.

"Alright, let's go." Aizawa says as he turns and heads for the doors.

Walking out the doors, Bakugo sees a bunch of heroes, Aizawa, Present Mic, and Endeavour are getting into the cars. The students get into the second car and they take off towards the location with everyone looking back and forth between them.

"Izuku, we need to talk." Masaru says with a serious look on his face.

Izuku's instincts immediately kick in. His heart is racing and his palms are getting sweaty. Izuku tries to hide in his shirt. Izuku suddenly feels Masaru's hand on his shoulder and his calming voice next to his ear.

"Calm down. It's nothing bad." Masaru says before adding, "We need to talk about telling Bakugo where you are."

Izuku relaxes and looks at Masaru. "I... I don't know if it's a good idea."

Masaru looks at Izuku's face and hugs him, "Are you worried about him not accepting you or something?"

Izuku looks at the floor, "I think he wants a different mate. He refused to say at our dorm last time I saw him."

Masaru fights back a chuckle "He doesn't have to be in your dorm 24/7."

Izuku looks up at him "I know, but I thought he would've wanted to stay with me after not seeing me for weeks, but he seemed to just want to get away at the end of the night..."

Masaru looks at Izuku again "Was he trying to get away or give you space?"

Izuku stares at Masaru, a look of confusion on his face before realization crosses it. "Kac... Chan..."

Masaru picks up his phone and dials the number.

It rings a few times before an out of breath Bakugo picks it up.

"Yeah?" Bakugo asks while trying to catch his breath.

As the cars pull up at the location, all the heroes, both pro and in training, get out of the cars and set up a perimeter. Once that is set, Aizawa, Kirishima, and Bakugo begin moving inside. As they walk in their mouths drop in surprise at the destroyed bodies. Looking around, there are a few bodies laying around the area, some split in half a few others with holes in their chests. Bakugo's face is showing pride. His choice of mate was good, Izuku can protect himself and he was willing to kill these men to get back to Bakugo.

"I'm going to try and track his scent." Bakugo says as he walks back outside, not wanting to smell his mate's fear and pure rage scents mixed together anymore.

He steps outside and finds the scent, a mixture of rage and longing. Bakugo follows it, finding that it goes on rooftops and he has to run to keep up with most of the jumps. The running is making him tired and gasping for breath, but he keeps going knowing his mate could be anywhere along this trail.

Suddenly, Bakugo's phone starts ringing and he gets it out, seeing it is his father, so he answers the phone and puts it up to his ear quickly.

"Yeah?" He asks.

"Bakugo, I need you to come to the house please." Masaru says.

"I'm a little busy searching for my mate right now." Bakugo replies.

"Bakugo. He's here. I found him and brought him home." Masaru says.

Bakugo skids to a halt. "He's at your house? You found him?" The excitement can he heard in his voice.

Bakugo takes off at a full sprint towards his house, it's only a few minute run from where he is, but that doesn't mean he's going to take it slow. As he flies from rooftop to rooftop, some people point at him and call out his hero name, but he's too focused on reaching his mate. As he makes the last jump to run down his street, he takes a sniff, trying to find his mates scent, but sadly is still too far to smell it.

He comes up to his house and opens the door as fast as he can, taking a sniff and scenting out his mate. Izuku is curled up under a blanket and pillow on the couch. Bakugo rips the pillow away and tears the blanket off to the side, exposing an unsure Izuku. Izuku is staring at Bakugo warily, unsure of if he should do something or if it'll just make him mad. Before Izuku can make a decision, Bakugo pins him to the couch and begins scenting his neck, rubbing their necks together and mixing their scents. The feeling causes Izuku to softly moan in pleasure as he wraps his arms around his mate's neck.

"I missed you kitten. I'd never ask for another mate. You're everything I could ever want." Bakugo says.

"I know Kacchan... Your father made me realize what you were doing. I love you." Izuku says as he lets Bakugo pull them into a sitting position.

Izuku is now on Bakugo's lap as Bakugo is sitting on the couch next to his father. Bakugo turns to Masaru and gives him a thankful smile and rubs Izuku's back.

"Thanks for calling me." Bakugo says.

"No problem, take care of him." Masaru says as he gets up and heads to his room to get some sleep.

Bakugo pulls Izuku to be facing him on his lap and hugs him tightly while he sniffs in as much of Izuku's scent as he can get. Bakugo then gives Izuku a quick kiss on the lips before looking into Izuku's eyes with a small smile.

"Have you eaten or slept today?" Bakugo asks.

"I've done both." Izuku replies.

"That's good. I should call Aizawa and have him call the search off." Bakugo says as he pulls out his phone.

He dials Aizawa and a few seconds later the line picks up, but it's not Aizawa on the phone.

"Hello?" A deep voice asks.

"Who is this?" Asks Bakugo.

"Nobody you need to worry about." The voice says gruffly.
