You ran around your house looking for your blue shawl, it was the same blue as your boyfriends eyes, and that's why you loved it so much. You had been dating Frodo for about a year now but you've known since since you were children, and you grew up listening to Bilbos stories. 

You heard a loud knock at the door and you ran to answer it, smiling when you saw the face of your boyfriend standing there. 

 "Hurry up love it's almost tea time and we haven't had our lunch" he remarked laughing 

 "Hold on" you laughed "I can't find my shawl" turning around to continue your search 

 "You mean this one" he said holding up your shawl "you left it at my house last night" 

"Oh thank goodness" you say reaching your hand out to take it from him

"Not so quickly" he says pulling it back " you'll have to catch me first 

He kisses you quickly on the cheek and tears off down the lane

You laugh closing the door behind you and chasing after him 

You follow him to a field where you see he halts next to a blanket with a picnic basket 

"Oh Frodo it's beautiful, I love it" you say taking his hand 

He beams "I'm glad you do, took me and Sam all morning to put it together" 

He helps you sit down on the blanket and draped your shawl on your shoulders behind you before sitting next to you. 

He starts talking about what trinkets he packed and how Sam got his mother to make some of her delicious pastries for them . You were staring at his face the whole time. You loved how his eyes sparkled when he was excited and his smile was the cutest thing you've ever seen. 

"Penny for you thoughts" he said noticing you staring at him 

You blush , shaking your head

"Alright, keep your secrets then" he said laughing as he kissed your cheek

you spent hours out in the field, eating and talking and kissing ;)

"Y/N" he said sitting up slightly as to not move your head on his chest " I have something to ask you" 

"Yes?" You questioned 

" I-" he started then a splash of water hit your face hi

"Its raining" he remarked quickly helping you get up and try to grab the picnic stuff 

It started pouring as you both ran up the hill hand in hand towards his house 

You were both dripping wet when you got in and he stoked the fire and ran off to get you some clothes 

you changed into one of his shirts and trousers before tying your hair up in a messy bun and then you went to join him by the fire 

He wrapped an arm around you and you snuggled into his side 

"So what was it that you were going to ask me earlier?" you asked 

His face went red "I well-I" he stuttered 

you smile, leaning in kissing him "yes?" 

He shifted , taking your hands in his and staring into your e/c eyes. 

"I love you" he said "I've loved you my whole life, will you do me the honor of being my wife?"

You gasp softly 

"Frodo...I love you so much yes, yes a million times!" 

You grab his face and press your lips on his 

" when do I get my ring? " you questioned, laughing 

"Oh goodness" Frodo exclaimed "I almost forgot, just a second love" and he started off 

You sat smiling, staring into the fire for a minute before he came back and grabbed your hand

He slipped a (your favorite description ring) on your hand 

"Oh Frodo! It's beautiful!" 

" A beautiful ring for an even more beautiful woman" he said, kissing you again kissing

you both snuggled up to each other and fell asleep next to the fire, both grateful for the wonderful person next to you.
