The bell rings signalling the end of English, everyone starts to make their way out of the room. I stay behind and wait for everyone to finally leave. Simon head is on the desk, and it has been since the start of the lesson.
"Simon." I tap his shoulder and he slowly lifts his head, the tiredness evident in his eyes. "Lessons over. You can go to lunch." He walks off mumbling something but I shake it off and make my way to Mrs Walsh's desk.
"Is everything ok Samantha?"
"I was just wondering if I could present my speech last on Wednesday. It's quite personal so I need to gather the courage to tell people."
"Of course you can, I'm looking forward to hearing your speech." I thank her before walking out of the room.
I meet Amelia by my locker and grab my lunch before we make our way to her next lesson. Her lunch was at a different time to mine so I walked her to her class then went to lunch. Nobody know that we are sisters or that we were both in adoption centres. We keep those things to ourselves.
"I saw him."
"Who?"
"Simon, my brother. He was in English today and I almost slipped up."
"You need to be careful if you want to keep things secret."
"I don't think I want to keep things a secret anymore, I'm fed up of living in a lie. It was fun to begin with, nobody knowing that every story was made up but now I want the world to know who I really am."
"I'll support you just please don't mention that I was adopted. Unlike you, I don't have the ability to be confident in everything."
