Laila POV

"Three minutes and Four seconds." Mathias said sitting on the bench close to the pool.

I climb up the deck and he threw me a towel. I just finish swimming three laps and I can proudly tell myself that I am getting better and faster by the day.

I look forward in competing in the next swimming competition coming up next term.

"I think that is an improvement." I said wiping my body dry.

"More than. You swam like a fish." He said and I chukles.

"Keep flattering yourself."

"I'm not. So are you entering the competition for next term."

"Of course."

"I trust you." He said proudly.

His phone beep in his pocket and he brought it out. He look at the message he just received.

"Oh my God!" He exclaimed. "I promise to go with Isabella to watch Maleficent in Cinema."

"Math! What the hell were you thinking? When are you suppose to leave? I asked. I don't want him to disappoint Isabella.

" In ten minutes time. "

" What? What are you going to do now? It's twenty minutes drive to the cinema. "

" Don't worry, I'll drive." He said with a silly smirk on his face. I trust him. He won't disappoint her. I roll my eyes at him.

He quickly stood up and take his cardigan and bag. He put the stopwatch on my lap and hurry away.

" That was amazing Laila. We will talk later in the night." He said as he hurry away. I shake my head and smile.

There is actually something going on between the two but there are not admitting it.

He have this silly smile on his face when he is talking to or about Isabella. And Isabella blushes when he talks to her.

Lucky them.

I am here stuck with a guy that won't notice me and hate to display feelings.

I took the towel and head to the bathroom to take a bath to wash off the chlorine from the water.

###

I met Efosa and his group of friends as I was heading home. The group decide to walk me to the bus station. I would have feel awkward being with Efosa alone but I'm glad his friends are with him.

Since our last encounter we barely talk. Just a few hi and wat sup. The few time we talk, he didn't mention what he told me again. But I know he is still hoping I will change my mind.

Jason and George with Saheed where sitting on the grass beside the pathway that lead toward the school gate.

I can see the surprise on his face when he saw me talking and laughing with Efosa and his friends. But I just look away and pretend not to see him.

"What is this?" My aunt said as I hand her the envelope containing the details about my school parent-children trip.

"My school is having a parent-children trip next month and the details are entail in the book."

"What school trip? " Uncle Femi as I usually address him asked.

"It is organize by the school once every two years. And you are required to bring at least one of your parent. The other material needed are listed in the book." I explained to them.

"That is quite great. It is a beautiful idea." Uncle Femi comment. He take the envelope from his wife hand and look through the content.

"This is quite expensive." He said biting his lower lip.

I smile. "You don't have to worry about the fee, Mr Samuel had paid the fee with the school fees. We just need to get the materials needed for the trip."

Mr and Mrs Samuel had travelled to the Canada to have their second child and I don't know when they will be returning. Nevertheless, they still pay all my fees and send me gifts every month.

"That's good then." My aunt said.

"Okay I will get those needed and we will decide who will go with you." Uncle Femi said.

I smile gladly. I'm really looking forward to this trip. I can predict it will be so much fun.

"Alright. Thank you."

"What about Oreoluwa? I can't leave him." My aunt complain about my cousin.

"Don't worry we will think about that later. We still got enough time." Uncle Femi assure her and I look at him gratefully. I can count on him to convince my aunt for the impossible.
