JASON POV

I'm in the kitchen eating cereal on the dining table that is at the centre of the kitchen. Call me a baby but I love cereals, especially with a lot of milk.

Its been twenty minutes since we returned from the cemetery. And I am famished and cereals seems to be the cure for it now.

I was still eating and tapping on my phone when Nan and our other house help came in through the back door that lead into the kitchen.

I groan and drop my phone so I won't have to listen to another round of complains and lecture.

Temi said a greeting which I replied to quietly before she walk past me out of the kitchen.

"Hey boy, you're back." Nan said droppings some buckets on the floor.

I nodded and answered. "Yes."

"Temi come and take this bucket to the store room." She said on top of her voice.

And she walk to the refrigerator to take a bottle of water. Temi came in and she take the buckets.

"Go and eat your food after that." Nan said to her when she came to take the bucket.

She nodded and walk out of the kitchen. Nan took a seat beside me as she pour herself a cup of water.

"Where is your mom?" She asked.

"Upstairs. She is making some calls." I answered and dig my spoon into the cereals.

"Isn't the milk too much?" She asked looking at the cereal that is covered with milk.

"No. I love it this way." I answered and take a spoon full into my mouth.

After drinking the water she poured for herself, she asked. "How was your outing with your mom? You look okay." She said with a smile.

"It was good. I... I think we settled somethings. We cleared out.... Some thoughts." I answered with a shrug and continued with my food.

"I'm happy for you and your mom. I had always prayed for this day to come." She said in her dramatic way and I just fight the urge not to roll my eyes.

"I'm glad you and your mom are okay. So what about me?" She asked.

I stare at her with open eyes. "What? We are fine. I don't remember otherwise."

She hit me with a table towel and I chuckle.

"You should go out with me. We've never go out together. I took you out couple of time but nothing good ever come out of it and it was always my idea. You were not always in the mood. But it looks like you are okay now. So you owe me a day boy."

"I don't owe you anything Nan. And are you acting jealous right now?" I asked and I smile with amusement.

"Call it whatever you want. You owe me one day. That should be a thank you for all those days I had to deal with your stubborn head." She said playfully.

"Ohh." I exclaimed with amusement.

"And if you won't, you will have to cook your own meals tomorrow."

"Seriously Nan. Are you threatening me? I'm going to tell mom." I said fighting the urge not to laugh.

She laughed. "So you can tell your mom now right? Don't worry i will see who will cook for the both of you. Both Mother and son."

I laughed. "You are funny Nan. Don't worry, I'm just kidding. I owe you a lot. And I promise to take you out. So are we good now?"

She beam and she grin widely. And I am very pleased that I can make her happy. She had done more than enough for me and I forever owe her.
