Chapter 1: My bestfriend, My Love

[Sam POV]

My heart is beating so fast like a bullet train, all this nervousness keep on eating me inside. As the drum rolls plays, I held the hand of person beside me and he smiled at me as he said.

“Relax, it will be okay.”

I took a deep breathe as I heard the drum roll stopped as the MC’s voice echoed in the whole auditorium.

“and the grand winner for this year’s Asia Song Festival is,

 

Samantha Chen!”

 

My eyes went wide as I heard the MC called my name. I can’t believe it, after all the hardwork and sleepless nights; finally, I did make it.

“Congratulations gummy bear!” The guy beside me said as he hugged me tightly, He is Henry, my ultimate bestfriend/competitor.

By the way, I’m Samantha Chen. Half Korean, half Chinese. I was born in Korea until my parents decided to move here in Beijing, China. I was a typical kind of girl who always lives my life to the fullest.

“Thank you so much muchkins!” I said, as I received the trophy and they put the medal in my neck. There were thousand of people cheering for me.

After the event, my family and henry’s family went on a dinner in a fancy restaurant to celebrate my accomplishment.  His family are very close to our family since both our fathers also are childhood bestfriends and Henry and I are taking each other since the time we able to realize how to live in this world.

[Henry POV]

-THE NEXT DAY-

Last night was really fantastic. I know I should be sad since I didn’t won, but knowing that Sam won over me, I was more even happy for her. She really deserves it; I mean she is a very talented girl.

Today was like other ordinary days to us, since I was too lazy to go outside, I decided to stay in our house today. I was playing the NBA2K15 when someone knocked on our door, I paused the game that I’m playing as I attend to the person infront of our door,

As I opened it, the postman, handed me the letter, after I thanked him, I close the door and went back to the living room. I was so curious about it that I decided to opened it, my eyes went wide as I read the whole letter,

Dear Mr. Lau,

                Thank you for your interest in sending us your demo. And we are pleased to inform you that the management decided to add you as a new member of a boy band here in South Korea. Attached in this letter are the other details.

My hands were shaking as I hold on to the letter! I can’t believe it. I almost forgot about it since I send my demo 6 months ago. And now they recognized my talent!. After I compose myself, I went outside our house and go to the other house that is right across ours.

I knocked on the door until someone opened it.

“Oh henry! You’re here, please come in.” Auntie said.
