"There has been an attack on your school." My mom said, her voice shaking. "A man showed up with 3 other people and started shooting around looking for someone." I froze.

"Oh no," Jen muttered under her breath.

Jen and Amy immediately grabbed their phones and started calling their boyfriend and girlfriend to make sure they were alright.

After everything was done, I started looking through the internet to find what Jason looked like. But all we found in each article is "There are no pictures of Jason McCann. But there are claims that he is about 5'9 and has a bit of a body build."

"There's nothing!" I exclaimed and threw myself onto my bed lightly hitting my head on the wall behind my bed.

"I feel like locking yourself in a basement is a good idea," Amy said.

"I'm terrified. What if it is me? What if he'll climb into my room and kidnap me?" I said shaking.

"Girl, don't freak out. You're not the only single girl in our high school." Amy said hugging me.

"But she certainly is one of the more attractive ones," Jen added.

"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked Jen when I pulled away from the hug.

"Have you not seen the pictures of those girls?" Jen started. "I'm gay I can tell he's out there for the gorgeous ones." She added.

I sat down and pulled out a piece of paper from my drawer.

"Ok let's play detectives. So:

•Jason is back in New York.

•We found out all the girls that he kidnapped were single and 18

•he attacked our high school

•he didn't find what he needed therefore that person must've been absent.

How many single girls are there in our grade?" I asked.

"About 40," Jen replied.

"How many are 18?" I asked.

"23," Amy replied.

"And like 3 are good-looking," Jen added.

"So, who do we have to choose from?" I asked them.

"Julianne, Marcella and you." Jen replied.

For the next week or two school was closed due to the attack. I spent the next two weeks researching Jason with Jen and Amy.

"This is bullshit," I said throwing myself onto my bed and hitting my head on the back wall.

"There's nothing. There is no information on him, it is almost as if he doesn't exist." Amy said throwing herself next to me.

"How am I supposed to know who I'm getting kidnapped by if I don't know what my kidnapper looks like?" I said.

"That's the strangest sentence I've ever heard." She said with a giggle. I then got a text. "What does Jen want? Is she texting to explain why she's not here?" Amy asked.

"She says her girlfriend came over and she wanted a break from all the Jason McCann nonsense," I said reading the text.

"Fair enough. I haven't seen my boyfriend in ages. But he's in San Francisco." She said.

"I haven't seen my boyfriend in ages. But that's because I don't have one." I said and we both laughed.

I then got another text. "If she wants to text so badly, why didn't she come over?" Amy said.

I read the text and froze. "A-Amy? This isn't Jen." I said and looked at her terrified.

I showed my phone and she froze. "Who could it be?" I asked after a few moments of silence.

"Search where the number is from." She said and we Googled the number.

"It says it's from California. More specifically San Fran." I said.

"Then it's probably one of my boyfriend's friends. It's going to be fine." She said and we both breathed heavily.

She was calmer. But something told me there was more to this mysterious Friend.
