It was seriously surprising how long Rye and Honor lasted.
While Rye only did it out of bad intentions, he discovered that Honor was an amazing person. He suddenly found himself falling for her, but always had Andy tucked away in the back of his mind.
Andy is dating someone else, Rye reasoned out, so he should just move on. After high school, he and Honor had a child.
They were like high school sweethearts, the epitome of the golden couple. The problem was, Rye didn't love Honor. He really, really wanted to. He was used to the shared smiles, the inside jokes, and the peaceful existence. They had a child, which was a huge step—he felt that he could tell her everything.
...at least, everything except for the inner guilt and feelings he shouldn't have eating away.
He honestly disgusted himself, for acting like a coward. He never freaking wanted to have feelings for another man—even if he knew it wasn't wrong, the fear kept him running away. And god, he didn't want to break Honor's heart. So ultimately he would live with the charade, and while Honor didn't deserve him, he deserved the feeling of not finding his true love.
It was one day where he went drinking and broke into a bar fight that became a turning point for the worse. After spending one night in prison with minor charges, he returned back home, and Honor was angry at him.
Rye realized that he would have to raise a kid, even though he wasn't ready. He couldn't ruin a child's life—so innocent and sweet, so helpless against the bitter world.
Yet he continued to drink, and after giving several chances in hope for redemption, Honor had left him.
