Eunsom brows furrow in deep thought. He is bothered by something. Dal-sae appears at his side poking him for attention.
"What's wrong?" He asks nodding at passersby. Eunsom sighs and throws the twig he was playing with.
"If you catch something you wanted for a long time, would you be happy?"
"Of course!" Ipsaeng answers coming out of nowhere. He grins at them before looking afar to where Chaeeun sits. He happily stare at her.
"Well what if you see it unhappy? Would you set it free?" He asks warily. Dal-sae looks thoughtfully at Eunsom.
"No! It's mine. Better I keep it before somebody else gets it, right?" He answers immediately. He gets a smack on the back of his head from Dal-sae.
"Why do you think it unhappy? Have you done everything to make it happy?" Dal-sae countered. Eunsom looks afar.
He takes a deep breath. He pumps his chest for emphasis. "Never give up!" He smiles at both men bravely.
He walks away towards the lake. Deep in the forest, his shoulders sag in defeat.
"How do I make her happy? She built a high wall around herself. An impenetrable one." He mutters to himself. He knows her sadness. He could feel it. Even with the changes in her appearance, she could not decieve him. She is still Tanya.
He saw her walking towards him. She smiles. He notes her swollen eyes but does not comment. She must have cried again.
"Was the visit to the lake helpful?" He asks simply because he don't know what to say. She nods.
He smiles, glad she feels better. They walk slowly to where the others were. Some of the women were singing discorded hymns that is beautiful. Life is simple here. Like in Iark, everybody was part of the tribe. Everybody is family.
That night Tanya wakes up to a sobbing Chaeeun. She goes to her bed and hugs her.
"Tanya, what will I do? I don't know where is my sister? Is she alive or what? She is all I have ... " She sobs miserably at Tanya.
"Sshhhh... it's alright. We will soon see them," she reassures her. Chaeeun looks at her like she lost her mind.
"Stop treating me like a child. I know it's hopeless. You don't need to patronize me," Chaeeun says sadly. Tanya shakes her head.
"Trust me. I know. I had a dream," Tanya said softly.
"What makes you think they are alive?" Chaeeun asks hesitantly. She wants to believe Tanya so much.
"Because in my dream ... Yangcha ... holds the dagger he gave me .."
When they visited the place where she last saw Yangcha, she decided to leave the dagger in a certain spot. Inside the cave, she left the small blade too ensuring he get the message she is alive.
