"You up sunshine?" Lacy was watching me sleep and when I saw her so close I was startled and almost fell out the bed. "Lacy," I whined you could've just shook me or even hit me in the head, but you scared the shit out of me!" "Sorry," you looked so peaceful and I wasn't sure if I should wake you or not," she smiled.

"Let's go eat breakfast, I heard their serving those big muffins today," Lacy smiled. How can she be so happy and content when she may not have a place to lay her head next month, I wondered to myself. "Ok," I said following Lacy out the door.

After we were seated with our breakfast, I saw Tucker walking over to us looking despondent. "What's wrong witchu?" I asked my brother after he came and sat next to us. "I could give you two a moment, if you need it," Lacy said standing up grabbing her tray. "No, sit down," I looked at her seriously.

"Some lady took me to a room and talked to me and said, A family was interested in adopting me..he paused. I told them I didn't wanna leave you, but they assured me that they'd place you in a loving home," Tucker looked at the floor deep in thought. "Does this mean we'll be separated?" I asked. "I'm afraid so," he continued looking downcast.

It broke my heart piece by piece to see him in such a low state of mind. My little brother was the only person in my life that made me wanna keep hope alive, what will I do without him? "You should eat, everything will work out the way it should," Lacy tried to encourage the both of us.

"I asked the lady will I still be able to keep in contact with you and she said we could write each other," Tucker looked up. "What does she think this is Jail, it's not gonna be the same," I said on the verge of tears. There was no way I could cry, I had to be strong for my brother.

Hours later, we were back in our rooms and I was pacing the floor. "What am I gonna do? How can I be apart of this? I asked myself rubbing my chin. "You really don't like this place, do you?" Lacy mumbled. "It's not that, Its just my brother and I have always had each other, without him there's nothing left," I said letting the tears fall.

As soon as the words were out, there was a knock at the door. "Come in"! My eyes grew wide when I saw Tucker standing there with a bag in hand. " What's going on?" I asked running up to him. "I'm leaving," he said with no emotion whatsoever. "Already, but we didn't even get to say goodbye," tears were threatening to fall. "This is goodbye," Tucker hugged me.

I felt glued to my brother, I couldn't let him go for nothing. "Time is ticking," A lady said tapping her watch. I felt tears soak threw my shirt as my brother pulled out of my grasp. "I'll write you, I will not forget about you," he walked off after another hug and a peck on the cheek.

"Lunch Time ! Someone yelled over the intercom. " You coming?" Lacy turned around and looked at me. "I can't eat anything right now, go ahead." Lacy shrugged and walked off.

Six months have gone by and I'm still in here. I have gotten skinnier , because I'm not eating much. Lacy just came back from lunch and took a seat next to me. "You have to eat something, you can't keep starving yourself. It's not healthy," she raised my chin up looking in my eyes. "I know, but it hurt so much, I feel like there's no point in life anymore. Its bad enough I don't have parents who care, but just to lose the one person that helps me keep going on..

" Everything happens for a reason, we all have problem. Some bigger than others, but that doesn't mean you just give up hope," Lacy said. "Your right," I sighed. "Let's go get a snack," Lacy suggested and we walked out and went to get a snack, then we talked for the rest of the night.
