According to a database compiled as part of a 2013 Ph.D. thesis, from 1946 to 2013, there were 824 missing or murdered Indigenous women identified. The RCMP's 2014 National Overview said that the "number grew to almost 1,200 between 1980 and 2012."
And the number has more than quadrupled after the year 2018 and that's only for the women that have been identified!
They're still hundreds missing women and little girls who have either been found dead or have simply never been found for years!
They're victims of kidnapping rape sex trafficking and so much worse and many of them sometimes as young as children never see their families again and most of them are never even investigated it's to the point that many native tribes even have their own Amber Alert because half of the time they're not even investigated there's been many court hearings and protests for many years for the police to investigate people that were suspicious in these women's cases.
Many families have special Radio podcast websites and even Facebook pages dedicated to finding a family member or even finding more than one!
This is especially bad in Alaska which is one of the states that has the highest counts of murder and sexual assault in the whole United States and more than half of these women are Native American!
This needs to be brought to people's attention because the only way that we can make a change and help these families find closure is if there is more exposure and awareness!
Little girls, mothers, daughters sisters!
THEY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!
