So just so y'all know the beginning of this story takes place in the year 1935 so 194 years after Russia took over Alaska and 68 years after the USA bought Alaska and 6 years since the start of the great depression.
It was a tough time especially for Alaskans considering they were already in poverty and the depression brought a lot of desperate people to Alaska with the false promise of riches and a lot of criminals desperate to escape the law.
Barnabas is 25 years old and was born in 1910 and Nanuq is 21 and was born in 1914.
