The Night Class

"Disciplinary Committee Member here! Please clear a path for the Night class!" Yuki yelled at the small swarm of students. As early as she was, she still didnt beat the group of fans waiting outside. These students weren't eager to start class, no, they were here to admire the Night Class. The Night class students were exceptionally beautiful because, unbeknownst to the Day class students, they were all Vampires.

A group of girls pushed their way to the front of the crowd and Yuki was shoved backwards into the wall of the Academy entrance, banging her shoulder on the stone. "Ow! Hey!" She yelped.

"Stand back!" A loud voice commanded. Zero was standing at the back of the crowd with a stern look on his face.

Gasps escaped the crowd as the students spread out to the sides of the path and cleared away from stone archway that the night class students were proceeding through. Whispers bounced around from person to person. Wow hes so scary. Hes so mean! What's wrong with day class mingling with night class?

The squeals of delight escalated as a somewhat tired, but attractive looking group of vampires wandered out. Most of the Night class students kept walking forward with a stone gaze, while some cast warm smiles at their admirers. A particular blonde-haired, blue-eyed vampire named Hanabusa Aido cast casual flirts and acknowledgements to his fans.

Yuki watched the Night class pass by as the group of girls followed them down the path. She breathed a sigh of relief as all of the students seemed to be keeping their hands to themselves.

"Thank you for your hard work Yuki" a sultry voice came from over her shoulder. Yuki gasped and turned around to see Kaname Kuran standing behind her.

"Oh, it- it's no problem, it's my duty, I'm honored to keep the peace between the classes" she stammered.

"You're up so early," Kaname continued, "please be sure to get enough rest Yuki"

The way her name floated off of his tongue caused her to sigh. "I will dont worry, thank you Kaname" she gushed as the vampire continued walking back to his dorm. He turned his head back and gave her a gentle smile. Her cheeks flushed red again.

Why her? Shes so stiff and boring.. murmurs escaped from the crowd as the gates closed behind the last member of the Night class. Yuki scowled, "Alright get to class! All of you!"

The rest of the Day class students drifted off through the Academy entrance, and Zero followed behind, herding them like sheep. He slowed down as he caught up to Yuki. "Still fawning over that undead freak?" He asked.

"Hes not a freak!" Yuki exclaimed before stomping off to class. Why does Zero always have to taunt me? She wondered.

At the end of the day Yuki and Zero supervised the evening class change, which went rather smoothly. After the Day students had all made it to their dorms, Yuki turned to Zero.

"I've got to go grab a few things from the Headmaster's residence before I settle into the girls dorms for the rest of the semester, do you mind if I head out a bit early Zero?" She asked.

"Sure." He replied. "I'm going to do another perimeter check. Stay out of trouble ok?"

"I'll be fine," she insisted. Yuki made her way back to her room in the Headmasters residence to collect her suitcase of clothes and belongings that she would need while living like a regular student in the Sun dorms. The Headmaster Cross stopped her at the door on her way back out.

"Yuki! You arent trying to sneak out without saying goodbye to your father are you? Just because school is in session doesnt mean you cant come visit occasionally ok? Take care my sweet child!"

"Of course, I'll visit dont worry," she assured him. "Goodnight!" She shouted, breaking free from his hug and slipping back out the door dragging her heavy suitcase behind her.

Yuki stepped out into the cool night air, everything was well lit despite it being past sundown. It must be a full moon. She thought. She walked around to the back of the building, to get a better look at the mood hidden behind it. Sure enough the full moon reflected off of the lake with an almost blinding brilliance. Maybe I'll do one quick patrol. She reasoned, making an excuse to admire the moon for a few more minutes before heading to bed. She left her suitcase by the sidewalk, she wasnt going to go far.

Yuki wandered around the edge of the lake admiring the glow of moonlight when she heard a twig snap off in the woods. "Is someone there?" She asked aloud, turning her head to the source of the sound. She stepped out of the moonlight into the darkness of the trees, ready to catch a Day class student sneaking off toward the Moon dorms.

She walked further into the woods, squinting into the trees looking for the source of the sound. She tried to walk lightly but the crunching of twigs and grass swishing against her shoes was still audible. She was starting to doubt that a human was walking around in the woods with her. "Hello Yuki" a voice sounded from her right. Blonde hair and icy blue eyes caught a ray of moonlight seeping through the leaves.

"Hanabusa, shouldnt you be in class right now?" Yuki questioned, trying to maintain an air of authority in her voice despite her nervousness.

"I wasn't feeling well so I thought I'd stay behind and catch some fresh air" he replied. "I was enjoying the full moon, when another beautiful sight caught my eye by the lake" he stepped closer, smiling warmly with a certain gleam in his eyes.

"You've come too close to the Sun dorms Hanabusa, you need to go back to your side. The separation is here for a reason you know" Yuki proclaimed.

"Actually Yuki, I believe you are the one who has strayed too far from your side. Where is that partner of yours?" Hanabusa stepped even closer, now just an arms reach away, with a mischievous grin on his face, revealing two sharp fangs.

"I-" Yuki glanced back toward the lake, she could see the faint outline of the Headmaster's residence. She had come too close to the Moon dorms. "I apologize for the accusation, I'll just head back to my dorms now- Ah!"

Hanabusa had reached out and grabbed ahold of her wrist. "Oh you don't have to rush off, why dont you keep me company for a while, I dont mind. A breath of fresh air is always nicer with your scent mixed into it Yuki." He laughed. His eyes glowing a frightening red.

Yuki froze in terror, trembling. Another pair of glowing red eyes clawed their way up from her memory. The night Lord Kuran rescued her from a murderous vampire when she was a small child. "Please let go of my arm," she whimpered, "I- I need to get some sleep before my morning classes" she tried to act unphased by his behavior.
